Kitten season is definitely in full swing. The tally at my work? Three females, 11 kittens from 4 litters. We are currently drowning in bitty babies. Ages range from a whopping 3 weeks to 2 days old.
I swear I have the BEST job in the world!
I will be sure to attack you with pictures tomorrow!
Brief history (because I'm hyper excited about so many kittens!):
Orangina: Orange 1yr old female. She had 3 kittens of her own. She and the babies were brought in several weeks ago when the tiny ones were only 2 days old. They're three weeks right now. When the kittens were two weeks old, someone found a single, day-old kitten and Orangina immediately took to the little one so she now has 4, two boys and two girls. All of these guys (including mom!) have homes with either a vet or a vet tech. Hooray!
Macy: Long-haired brown tabby and white, a little under one year. This is apparently her second litter.:realhot: She's a real sweetheart. She has 4 babies, most of which appear to be siamese-mixes. These little ones are about 2 weeks old.
Mittens: Long-hair blue point siamese mix with blue/green eyes. She's between 1 and 2 years old. She had 5 kittens to begin with, I was told but two died the first day. The three current survivors are 2 days old. 2 are clearly siamese-mix types, and the third... well... the third clearly had a different father than the siamese-mix male that was running around. Little dark brown, almost black tabby. This litter has me worried. The umbilical cord of one of the white kittens got wrapped around the hind foot of the other white one. Both kittens were stuck to the towel in the carrier and the foot of the one has died.... The kitten itself seems okay, and I'm hopeful that the dead foot will drop off on its own without doing any harm. I'm really worried about that little one though. >_> I'm going to insist on the name of Tripod for it.
The latter two females were given into my care today. x_x They're now comfortably settled at the hospital I work at. Both new mama cats have URI signs and now they'll be taken care of.
Can't wait to show off pictures of all of the babeeeeesssss!
>_> And if you know anyone in the San Fran Bay Area of CA that wants a kitten..... direct them towards me! XD
