So what other pets do you have?

Corny Noob

Proud Momma
I live in a zoo.
As you can see in my signature, and I think I forgot to add my new clam to my signature though.
Hehe besides snakes what else do y'all have?

Oh, wow...that's quite a few pets. Don't let the city with its ordinances find out!

(I live in Chicago & I *heard* somewhere through the red-taped grapevine that I'm only to have a max of 3 pets per household, or something like that...I don't know about that officially, but I'm sure that I'd find trouble either which way...)

So, as you can see from my signature, I have 2 ferocious felines (I know that you didn't ask for pictures but I'm sick at home -- WHILE ON MY SPRING BREAK, THANK YOU! -- so I'm a wee bit bored...hope that you don't mind... ):

Strasti, 6.5 years old and the most amazing survivor of a cat ever...he's simply the biggest love monster you've ever met:

Voxie, Strasti's brother & an absolute mama's boy & princess:

Aleph, 5.5 years old and a feral cat -- with emphasis on the feral! -- I adopted from a no-kill shelter who adores Strasti & Voxie, and is a sweet fuzz bucket:

Strasti & Aleph -- some cuddle time earlier this week:

Partie deux...

And, onto the rest of my reptile menagerie:

I got my amel Maizie last year (new photo alert of my pretty girl!) -- she's my first reptile ever & my first corn snake...she'll be a year in June and she's an absolute doll:

And, then, wouldn't you know it? I read a signature somewhere that stated that corn snakes are like chips -- you just can't have just one...and it's true! I also teach 2nd grade, so I was kindly donated a corn snake for my classroom:

Here's Fritz (aka, TicTac in the classroom), my anery, who I guess is going on about 2 years soon...he's quite adorable and loves the attention from my students. Soon he's going on his "school tour" of various classrooms, showing his eating technique & demostrating the need for Reptile Respect in this world.

(Yes, my students' eyes are blacked-out on purpose...)

My final two are both normals, Bellerouge (who will be 1 in Sept) and I got her at the Tinley Park show last Oct, and Caramelo, who I adopted this past Dec & he'll be six-ish this year. Belle is a fiesty one, but oh-so-belle...she's from the Bayou, so she needed a good French Cajun name. :) And Caramelo just came to me because he's dulce like, well, caramelo. :)

Caramelo:

En fin! Partie trois...

Then, my three last reptiles who I acquired before/amongst the corn snakes:

My two lovely leopard gecko ladies, who really are very dainty & fun...
Flaca (approx 5 years old)

Rosa (approx 3 years old)

Finally, last but not least, my 8-month old bearded dragon Jolie. She's a fun one, all right...for the felines, she's Kitty TV. :)

Thanks for looking! :wavey:

(By the way, I do have 2 guppies & 1 betta fish. but I'm not going to post them...it's hard enough getting a decent photo of the snakes & whatnot, much less of a fish!) :)

The pic of your dog and the budgie is the cutest thing EVER. I guess the dog is used to the birds :)

lol, thanks. The dog is a great big sissy, she's actually afraid of the bird, I had to do some coaxing to keep her from running away!

Bless! I was going to ask if the dog was any risk to or frightened the bird at all... didn't realise it was the other way around! :grin01:

silly isn't it? We get our birds from a breeder who hand raised them, and there is a dog in her house, so they are very social and have no fears of dogs. My dog, big as she is, is so friendly, she licks the snake, she plays with the ferret (even though it nips at her ankles) and she lets kids do what they want with her....but put just one budgie on her head, and she's a big baby!

Ok...in addition to the 60 snakes (mostly corns with 6 ball pythons, 3 kings, 5 western hognoses, and 4 boas) we also have:

- 1 Pac Man Frog (Gordito) that weighs in around one pound
- 5 leopard geckos - two older ones and three younger ones
- 2 Sulcata tortoises (Shelly and Tails) - I posted pics of them in here somewhere recently

That's it. As soon as we get a house of our own (not an apartment) we'll get a dog and/or a cat. I grew up with dogs and I miss having one around.
