Spotty Shedding

My corn snake used to shed in nice, one piece phases. The last few times she's shed, it's been coming off in pieces, many of them still sticking to her. I usually leave her for a few days to see if she can get the rest off herself and, if not, use some warm water to help her along. Does anyone know why they do this? Is it a vitamin deficiency? Not humid enough?

Not humid enough. Try covering the viv with plastic wrap, loosely, and misting a couple times. When she's in blue.

That is a problem this time of year. Especially in the NE. The winters are tough on the snakes, when they shed. How I deal with it, is when I notice that they are going in the blue. I usually mist the tank a bit, especially where the heat source is and will give them a dip in some damp sphagnum moss a time or two before the event. This helps tons!!

Good Luck,

Wayne
