So I went out today and got three thermometer gauges (the rounds ones from Petco) and a digital probe thermometer as well as a reptile rheostat for Squirts cage. I placed the two round thermometers on the aspen instead of on the tank of the glass. On the cool side it is around 73 degrees and the warm side is about 90. I know that is too high. Well, I got home with the rheostat and hooked it up and put the digital probe under the aspen on top of the UTH and it is registering 110 degrees. I have the rheostat hooked up to the UTH and set on low in order to bring the temperature down and get it down to around 85 on the warm side. I put the third round thermometer inside his skull hide that sits directly in the middle of the tank with a 40 watt bulb shining on top of it to see what it reads. I just put that in so I'll update on the temperature and the rest of the temperatures later tonight. I wanted to make sure I'm doing everything right and check in here. Squirt is adjusting well and loves his Aztec hide on the cool side of the tank. Oh and as I finish typing this the temp on the UTH has gone down to 107 already. Here is a picture of the tank and one of Squirt.
