stargazer contagious or not

STargazing, unfortunately, shares a name with a symptom of IBD in other snakes. IBD IS a highly contagious and deadly disease. Corn snake startgazing is a heritable vestibular syndrome and a completely different condition, but it was named after the behaviour displayed, which is the same sort of behaviour as stargazing in boids who have IBD.

^^That is likely where the confusion is. I hadn't thought of that.
