Sometimes I like to walk in there and peek around...saw a few things tonight that caught my eye.

They had what looked like a candycane corn for 50 bucks...but there were beetles swarming the tank. Not sure what kind of beetles...but I'm sure that can't be good for anyone involved.

I also saw a potentially nice (but possibly going to die) rainbow boa. The boa was trying to shed...there was small pieces of skin all over the tank but 90% of the shed was still stuck on the boa. The humidity in the tank was a whopping 5%

I pointed it out the the people working there but I am 99% sure it was forgotten about as soon as I walked off.

Oh I would be pissed. I would have waited and pestered the manager until they took care of both of the problems. I just don't get it.

You can contact the head office... if they don't fix the poor snake, call higher ups.. they will get a visit and get there shit together... Petco hates complains...

I can't even walk into a corporate pet store anymore without losing my mind after seeing how they "care" for their animals. My local petsmart has had a hole in their gecko enclosure for over a year and I've gone to the manager at least 5 times and she keeps telling me, "Oh, we'll get someone to fix it later". It is incredibly frustrating. I was at a petco a few months back where they had 8 ball pythons in a freaking 10 gallon enclosure. The water bowl was barely big enough for a baby corn to soak in, let alone a single adult ball python. I say adult because several of those snakes had been there for over a year, and I ended up adopting one because I felt so damn bad for the poor creature. Fortunately he's in a nice luxury apartment on his own now...with a pool lol

And don't even get me started on the random insects roaming around every single enclosure in the place (that's reptiles and mammals)
