you shouldve seen me when i got it , i bought a hatchling boiga at the same timr, i was jumping about with glee.

I am curious what a “Super Hypo” Motley Ghost is genetically. They are very light and extremely nice, but a Motley Ghost is Homo for Anery A, Hypo and Motley. Are there any additional genes involved or a different hypo gene that you know of?

Im not sure myself on exactly how they come to call it a super hypo, I know what you mean though, ghosts are hypo anyway. But you can certainly tell the difference between these and ghost motleys.
A friend bought them from Hamm at the weekend and the label says its from a place called Herpbreed UK, Sea St, Herne Bay, Kent, England. I will try to seeif there is a website or if I can contact them to find out more. If I do I will let you know.

I have 1.2 like this also . I bought my 2nd female also in Hamm (Germany) from the same guy I bought my couple at the previous show in Holland .
I was really fond of the pattern with the dots on the tail like you see on the 3rd picture in the shop . I hope to bring this over by breeding them to other colors .
I think the name superhypo is because they are lighter than a regular ghost .
Quite good looking morph !!

I don't think anybody could tell for sure, but here is a photo of a known Ultra Ghost. They have blue eyes with ruby pupils which seems to be the main identifier. If we added the Motley gene to this corn, I think they would be even lighter than they already are.

Your Super Hypo Ghost Motleys are very nice, but some Ghost Motleys and Striped Ghosts are very simular. There is a photo of a Striped Ghost near this thread and it is very light and simular to your Ghost in color.

Your snakes are very light and beautiful. I was just currious if there was more to their genetic make up than sellective breeding. The name seems to indicate this is the case, but I guess the breeder will have to fill us in on the story behind them.

I was interested due to my involvement with the Hypo Test Breeding Project. I was just trying to keep up on the current common names and genetics behind them.

Thanks for that Joe.
Im really interested aswell, I would love to know the genetics behind it. I promise I will let you know when I do find out

yep, you are right Joe it looks a lot like that striped ghost. Plus mine doesnt appear to have the ruby eye thing going on either, it has dark pupils which do look a little ruby in some lights but not proper ruby. So maybe mine is simply a very light ghost motley, just named that way to grab attention or maybe because its so light. The hunt for the breeder will go on :) .
I dont mind what it is I love it to bits, but its nice to know the background, for when I breed it. I got another ghost motley I can mate with it, or numerous other possibilities( lavender, butter, amber, caramel, hypo, classic etc), but its going to have to wait until he's a big boy :santa:

Absolutely stunning ghost motley! Just wondering, could the light color and pattern be similar as to what happens in the vanishing stripes? Since motley and stripe are "related" genes, I would think the "vanishing" aspect could be related as well.

They do have that same look as the Vanishing Stripes do and even some hints of the Cubed ("Indian" I hate the Cubed name) pattern on the last half of their bodies. It would be very interesting to hear from the breeder.

very nice addition

I agree with Joe,

what actually makes them 'super' hypo ghost motley?
Very nice addition indeed!!

I wish I knew Simon. A friend got it from Hamm. There must be someone out there that knows the guy who runs herpbreeder uk????
Now you mention it she had also bought a vanishing stripe anery with them, I will ask if they came from the same breeder.

Would anybody be able to post and show me the different colors and patterns of all the Ghosts that you can get. I'm able to go pick up my Ghost Thursday, but I'm not sure which color pattern he is. I think he may just be a regular Ghost, but he doesn't have the yellow on the bottom of his belly.
