Television?

I just realized I haven't turned on my television since a few weeks ago. The last thing I watched was American Idol and it's the dumbest season in history. I don't like anyone except Allison and she got voted off. Now we will have that stupid all male finale the producers have wanted all season. Yipee..

Anywho, I realize I don't really like tv that much and can live without it. When I start watching it a lot I get a little addicted.

I'm sort of sick of reality television inundating the airwaves. Argh.

So..how much television are YOU watching? And what do you like to watch if anything?

If I do sit down to watch television I usually watch Animal Planet for the snake programs, sometimes mtv, and ocasionally those crazy Duggar programs. Damn they have way too many kids and one grandkid on the way.

I don't get why we have so much "reality" tv. Do you like it?

I found myself in the same boat after I started playing guitar. I realized that If i spent all my time playing guitar and canceled my cable, i could afford to buy a new pedal every month, and advance my skill.

The majority of television is, imo, a brain drain on society.

That's true. I wasted a lot of time wathcing television..of course now I frequent snake forums all the time. LOL. My guitar is broken so I can't play it and I am majorly bummed. I'd love a new guitar but I'll never be able to afford it. I'm losing hours at work as it is and have to be able to pay my rent, and pay for all my pet stuff.

My cable box isn't even plugged in. LOL

With my cable provider i had to buy at least 100$ in programming before i was able to get the HD channels i wanted, namingly discovery oasis, rush, treasure, and equator. If i could purchase just the channels i wanted i would definitely consider keeping my cable.

Heh.. I can relate. I don't watch much TV.. haven't for years now. I don't get Reality TV at all. I mean, I understand the appeal, I just don't find it entertaining.

I stick to adult swim, House, Lost, and formerly BSG.

Reality TV is cheap to produce, thats why we get soooo much of it.
I don't watch much TV.... I prefer wireless 'tinterweb sat in the snake room.
And as for HD TV.... My eyes are no longer HD so it's pointless for me... LOL

I haven't watched much that TV since I got a job. I work really early so when I come home before the "prime time" stuff starts I just fall asleep. I do spend way too much time on the compu though even been watching TV ON the internet to catch up on the couple shows I like but fall asleep instead of watching :)

I don't have a TV in my house, and I haven't for about 2 months. Love it. Once I finish this darn move, they'll probably come out of storage again (wife likes watching the Firefly DVDs on it, but I'm cringing at the thought. I do kinda miss The Simpsons, but I also KNOW my life is better without that dang squacking babble box in it. Besides, I want to exercise my 2A rights on it every time I see the biased liberal media selling news instead of reporting it!

I love my TV. I HATE my bare minimum basic cable. There are very few channels I get that I really want to watch. So far, the channels with the best shows have been the Disney channels. Which aren't too bad when there's movies on.

I'm a television-o-holic. It's almost always on, though half the time I don't know what is on I just turn it on for noise and something in the background.

There are a few shows I can say I consistently watch day by day, or week by week. My favorite right now is Lost. I also watch Fringe. I used to watch Heroes but haven't for the past couple months. I'm also an [adult swim] junkie and watch it pretty much every night. I also like the Fox Sunday adult cartoon lineup....king of the hill, the simpsons, family guy, american dad

Some reality shows I watch regularly. Project Runway and Americas Next Top Model are among my favorites (though I am not a huge fan of Tyra lol). I like the top model series so much that I even watch Britains Next Top Model and Australias Next Top Model. I never watch American Idol, never liked it. Usually I catch Big Brother, but I've been known to miss a few seasons here and there. Used to watch Survivor but haven't for the past few years, and as much as I love the Amazing Race it is painful for me to watch because it makes me so jealous lol.

I also like to watch those ghost type shows....Ghost Hunters (TAPS), Ghost Adventures, and Most Haunted. I also watch documenteries on any random thing that sparks my interest on discovery channel, history channel, etc, etc...

I love some television. Some people think it's a waste of time, but if your lucky like me and have DirecTV than theirs a lot of great stuff to watch. I love any sort of history/science stuff they play on National Geographic, along with Dog Whisperer which is my favorite show. Also, NBA playoffs are going on now so theirs games every night which is also good, if your a fan. Another show I love is First Take on ESPN. Other than that I watch NFL Network, and ESPN, and a bit of Animal Planet. Sometimes I'll watch Discovery Health or TLC if they have programs on conditions, or something interesting like that, but that's mostly it
