I'm sure there are a large percentage of you who use aspen substrate and find your snake likes to hide under there. I was just wondering what the best way to get them out of there is, without scaring them? I don't mind that he/she goes under there, but when I want to get her out it's a pain in the butt.

I usually take out everything and then slowly pick up the aspen and place it on one side of the viv. If hes not on that side then ill do the same on the other side and pick him up easily.

And then when hes eating in his feeding tub, I can check the substrate for stools and put everything back in.

Hope this helps.

If one of mine is under the aspen I take a chop stick and gentley run it around the viv until I bump the snake. I try to locate the head and then pick it up.
