I had posted a few pictures in here before, but I thought I'd just make this one thread and update it. I really enjoy the long progression threads where you can see the snakes get bigger!
First up is Nagini, formerly known as Crictor. She's from PetCo and was the snake that started the obsession. As far as I know, she's a ghost.
And this past week, she had a great feeding response. She struck at the pinkie before she was off my hand! And when I slipped her off my finger, she coiled up more than she has in the past.
After I brought Nagini home, I started looking at other morphs and really liked the yellows. I decided that my next snake would be an Amber. I searched a few breeders and found some males at South Mountain Reptiles, but I didn't think too seriously about it because it was hard enough getting ONE snake, so I didn't think I'd be able to get more. But I did .... here's Monty. He's the oldest of the three from SMR.
After finding the Amber morph, I found pictures of Extreme Okeetees. By this point, I was pretty new to breeders and sites for corn snakes, so I was again looking at sites, and I found EOs on the same site that I found the Amber, South Mountain Reptiles. Then I felt like it was fate. I just have to get these 2 babies! I pretty much begged my non-reptile loving husband, and he said yes. It helped that all of my kids wanted snakes, so I said we could get 3 snakes for 3 of them and then have our bearded dragon for the other kid.
Here's Lucifer. My husband said you can only get more snakes if you name one Lucifer, so ... why not? He's the most calm and laid back of all the snakes. He also had no problem with eating in front of us, taking the pinkie backwards and picking his head straight up and chugging it. It was pretty entertaining.
So while I was waiting for them to ship (and waiting for my supplies that I ordered), I was remembering that my one daughter really likes the corn snakes with red eyes. I browsed SMR and found that I did like the Reverse Okeetees, so I added another snake onto my order. Then I realized I must be really crazy! So, Puff the dragon went back to being a family pet like he always was.
Meet Crictor. He fits the name, because when I took him out of his cage for the first time, he tried to constrict my wrist to death. He was really working it. At least that's what it felt like! I don't have as many pics of him because he regurged last week so we haven't touched him since.
Just realized I don't have any more good ones of him. I have taken the best pictures outside, and I haven't taken him out because he's more jumpy. I can't wait to see how he progresses, because he's really beautiful.
So that's it. I'll post more good pics of them as I get them! Thanks for reading!
