The Neglected Girls...

Mrs InsaneOne

I See Snakes...
Err.. neglected in that they rarely ever get their pics taken any more... With the number of babies we had last season, we concentrated mainly on photographing the hatchlings and a few of the yearlings instead of the older boys and girls. So, back in November, just before tucking them in for the winter, I took pics of the following girls:

Pebbles, amel motley - one of four that laid for us last season:

Now she's all embarrassed that I showed off her tummy to the forums:

Up in the next post - Pearl (the snow corn)

Jenn

Pearl was the female that had the minor prolapse and eggbinding last year and who went on to drop a second clutch. None of the second group of eggs survived, but her first clutch of gave us 18 beautiful snakelets including so knock-out Aztecs/zig-zags. The clincher? By the time the eggs hatched, we only had 17 good ones still going. So there was one set of twins in there. Score!

Anyway, here's ma baby...

Last girl for the night, Charcoal, (big ghost girl) in the next post.

Jenn

And now for Charcoal, she's bounced back nicely after dropping her first ever clutch of 11 eggs (ten of which hatched out healthy babies), not to mention a second clutch of 7 or 9 total eggs (they never hatched).

Her new status as dam has not affected her appetite though, for she still pounds them down faster then I can get my fingers out of the way. And always begs for seconds! lol

Here she is:

Let's see some of that luscious yellow girl:

I'll be taking more pics of the little darlings after we warm them up in a few weeks or so! So enjoy!

Jenn

All three are beautiful...

Thanx so much for the pics... I never get tired of seein' pics of beautiful snakes no matter what kind they are. Pearl is the prettiest snow I think I've ever seen. Snows are my fav anyways but that is a beauty!!!

Lil. :)

They all look great! My favorite is the ghost. Normally I don't like the yellows on these guys, but on yours it just compliments her dark bold colors, very nice!

Great shots, Jenn! Excellent iridescent and ventral pics. My favorites are Charcoal's dorsal and Pebble's ventral!

Someone was busy whilist I sleep.. *LOL* Pebbles might be bred this year.. Pearl, well she is very likely retired from breeding, and well Charcoal has a meeting with a Hypo boy this year I believe.. What we need to do is figure out definant plans of who is going this year.. Of course we have laid the foundation for a few breedings this year, not locked down on every one though..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

I love Pearl... of course I'm partial to snows, and have 3 of her
Aztec babies..
All of the girls are beautiful though..

T and J rocks... LOL

Thanks for the wonderful comments everyone! I know for the most part, these are the most common morphs (aside from normals) but I love them just as much as I do the showier ones - more in some cases as Pearl (the snow) was our first snake. She's been with us the longest and she's the one snake I'd never be able to part with... along with about 50-60 others we have! lol... but she's one of the few that I'd hang onto for sentimental reasons opposed to project reasons.

Jenn

I love the picture of Pebbles where she's bending her neck. It's so cute when snakes do that!

It's really cool... until they complete the move and bite your hand! lol. She was eying my thumb right after that picture and actually poked me a few times like she would a mouse! lol
