Quick picture update of my Miami Pair from Carol. Both are het hypo and motley.

Mrs. Brisby
She's a pretty picky eater, only accepting washed pinks, and then sometimes refusing them if she is in a bad mood. I'm going to find out just what's making her feel insecure. Still a little skinny, but with spirit to make up for it..

My attempt at getting them on a darker background. The colors that showed through were amazing! My camera added some weird blue fringing though. :shrugs:

And the male,
Nimh
He is quite a snake! An excellent feeder, and boy does he have a hunger for life. As seen in the pictures below, he's always on the go when I take him out of his tub, flailing about like mad. He's really getting quite strong for his size! I think he's going to be a big boy.

While shopping for a lap top the other night I noticed that DSLRs are under $1,000 now. A few of them are as low as $400-500!!! This is incredibly exciting news for me. Hopefully my pictures will improve drastically within the next year.

Very nice Miamis, Jessica. Carol's Miamis are so clean, with awesome contrast, and you got a couple of excellent examples.

I loved that book as a kid. But isn't it strange naming a snake after a mouse? :grin01:

Ah, the Huddleston Miami. (Hey, there's an Abbott Okeetee, so why not?)

Clean background, garnet-red saddles. Couldn't ask for anything better than that.

How old are they, Jessica?

regards,
jazz

They are beautiful! Carol has some of the nicest miamis, I think anyway :) I really like the blue/gray background color... it makes the saddle colors really pop :) I am getting some snakes from Carol myself, and I am soooo excited! especially after seeing these babies :)

Dean, :grin01: :grin01: :grin01: I suppose naming a snake after a secret experimental laboratory that bestows human inelegance on animals is an odd thing to name a snake after as well. Carol told me that the male of the pair she was offering was special, so I decided he needed a special name! Mrs. Brisby was in my opinion the obvious choice for the female to keep with the theme.

Dale, Huddleston Miamis they are! Unfortunately I made an extremely embarrassing mistake of calling them "Hudson" Miamis in my introductory post of them. I think my mind just naturally went to Hudson Bay, where some of my family lives. *blush* I didn't want to make the same mistake twice. I did a bit of research and found that these guys were piping on 4-28-07. So they're about 5 months old now.
Here's a link that gives a bit more information about their parents. Beautiful snakes!

(had to put a space between http and the rest of the link, otherwise the link is edited. So delete the space between http and : )

Looks like we get a glimpse of the first pictures of Mrs. Brisby and Nimh that were ever taken! I think Nimh is the first male shown (first baby picture), and Mrs. Brisby is the first female (third baby) shown.
