Time for the waiting game (pics)

So my new little girl had been eating live before I got her. Big no-no in my house so I have been worried about feeding her F/T. My boy came to me eating F/T so I did not have to worry about switching him. So I waited 6 days to feed her. I was going to wait 7 but she was showing hunting behaviors so I decided to feed her tonight. Warmed up the pink, I forgot how small they are, and put it in the deli cup and poked a hole in the side for the smell. Pulled her out and went to put her in the deli also. She did not even take a moment to think about it. As soon as she got close enough she reached out and picked it up and pulled it back into my hand. So she ended up eating out of my hand. Nothing something I wanted but I also did not want to pull her off of me and try to get her in the cup while she was eating so I just let her eat. She got it down without any problems so now I wait to see if it stays down. I dont know if I would be able to find a small pink in that aspen. I think the first time I gave my boy a pink I had him on paper towels. Guess I should have done that for her. Oh well... now the waiting game. Lets hope all goes well. I gave her the smallest pink in the bag though she could have taken a bigger one. Did not want to push her.

Here are some pics. Enjoy!

As I said in your other thread, that's a really cool looking snake. I'm glad you got her to eat frozen so easily too!

You and me both! She seems to be holding it down fine. She is a jumpy little thing. I still need names, any ideas?

Oh, I'm no good with names. Get out a phone book and close your eyes. Turn to a page and put your finger on the page. There's your name!

Wow, you are brave! I have heard so many stories about the feeding response of kings, so when I fed my girl I took super precautions. I got her out first making sure my hands had no smell on them that might be yummy, put her in a clean feeding container, weighed her, then got the mice out to defrost. Then I gave her her mouse with tongs, so she wouldn't have a chance to bite me!

For a name, I don't know maybe Flame? I'm pretty bad with names.

She is sooo cute Congratulations on the F/T success. I still have two I need to work on that still refuse F/T. I hope they switch soon. :)

She's lovely! I'm glad that she ate for you without incident. Days like those are always a cause for celebration!
