To yawn, or not to yawn?

Gintha

*stretches* I'm out!
Okie, so I was holding Hunter yesterday, yes HOLDING him... hes in blue LOL, the only time I can hold him without having him try to eat me. I noticed hes yawning a LOT, and wondered if maybe hes just stretching his jaw. Has anyone else noticed their snakes doing this when they are in blue? I've never noticed Treasure do this, just Hunter.

How close is he to shedding? I've seen many snakes do it to help loosen the skin to shed.

slightly :-offtopic Yesterday I was holding Lily, and I was looking at her right up close to me because I was looking at her chin markings, and she yawned hugely in my face, and it actually scared me. I've seen her yawn after eating, but this was the first time "up close and personal"! Luckily no one else was there to see me spaz.

I've never seen mine yawn when in blue. That's mostly due to the fact that I don't handle mine at all when in blue.
Having said that, "yawning" seems like a fairly logical response to the discomfort of trying to get rid of their skin. I'm sure if I were in that position I would be stretching my jaw and doing whatever I could to listen things up and be more comfortable.
Like I said, this is based on logic and nothing else. :)

I've seen many of mine yawn when in blue. I'll still handle them when in blue, and thats when they do it, but I imagine their old skin feels tight and they just want to stretch it a bit!

Thats what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure it was normal hehe =) Thanks folks =)
