Top for a 40g Aquarium

I have a 40g breeder that my Baird's Ratsnake lives in. I got it used, and it came with a screen top. It is acceptable, I have clips and it is fairly solid, but I also have a very inquisitive 12lb cat who got on top of the viv and now my screen has a worrying swayback :uhoh: (never fear, it is still escapeproof, Killian has made sure of that)

Anyone have any ideas on how to replace this top with something a little more catproof? Right now I am putting her up in a bedroom when I am not home so she won't get in top of the screen and bring it crashing in. I tried searching but didn't come up with anything (silly 3 letter limit omitted lid, viv, and diy).
Something more solid would also come in handy for humidity purposes, my apartment is really dry and constant misting is a pain.

You could try getting a piece of plywood that is long/wide enough to rest on the edges of the cage on top of the screen. I had to do that with a cage I used to have for the exact same reason! A couple of strips of double-sided foam tape attached it to the lid itself allowed for a small amount of ventilation and kept the kitties from accidentally knocking it off.
