Travelling snakes? Any help or advice

I plan on going home for the Christmas holidays for a span of about a week, its a two hour drive and unfortunetly I have no one who can check in on my two month old bloodred corn snake "Pooh". I'm nervous about leaving him home alone for the time while I am away, some of my concerns include running out of water, heating going hay wire and him escaping. I'm being a paranoid snake mom and I know I am but what would be safer, leaving him home for the week or bringing him on the two hour trip. I want the least amount of stress possible, on that note I live in Canada so it gets pretty cold here. Would the drive hurt him? Sorry for all the questions but I just don't know what's going to be best for him. Any body have simliar stories or advice?

I used to drive my snakes home with me every weekend when I went to college in a town 3 hours away. Just put him in a deli cup, wrap the deli in a small hand towel, place in a picnic cooler, grab a warm water bottle, wrap it in a small hand towel, place it in the cooler next to the deli cup and you're good to go.

Thanks Ali! So I guess they're pretty hardy when it comes to "being in a new environment"? I only ask this because my gecko moved with me twice and both times he took 3-4 weeks to settle in before he started eating again which was not good :(
