Thanks, I actually picked her up without a whole lot of knowledge about the morph! She is turning out to be way cooler than I expected. She'll make some nice babies with Indigo Montoya or Big Red one day!

Oh.. and I hate to be weird.. but this (TOTALLY AWESOME) snake looks a bit chubby.... like the whole time. Does it have a weight problem? How much is she being fed and how often?

I know, I know.. you've been here longer than me and I'm probably being presumptuous questioning you... I just had to bring it up.

She does look chubby in photos, I dunno what's up with that. She weighs 298 grams in that last photo. In person she doesn't seem fat at all: she doesn't have "hips" and has very good muscle tone. (I could barely get her off my arm last photo shoot.) I feed all my snakes based off the "Munson Plan". Currently my girls are all getting 1 adult mouse a week. Most of the boys are a bit behind, getting 2 fuzzies per week. I have never "power fed" any of my snakes but, as some people will attest, the Munson Plan gets pretty close at times. :D
 
She's exactly what I would want in a snake then! I somewhat prefer the "chubbier" look in snakes, but I don't want to hurt them by overfeeding so I just stick with keeping it healthy.

The fact that you're on the Munson Plan tells me that you're doing it right ;).

I just can't get over how gorgeous your snake is! My wish list keeps getting longer and longer. See what you've done. :rolleyes:
 
She is a stunning little girl! Those colors are amazing. She's was a special girl from the get-go! I adore her name too... having an Elvis lover for a mother has taught me a few things ;)

Thanks! She is named after the Van Morrison song, although I have been to Tupelo Mississippi, birthplace of Elvis.
 
SO, I thought maybe Tupelo Honey was gravid, but after her latest shed... nothing. SO, I put Indigo Montoya back in with her...

This is actually only the second hook-up I have ever witnessed.
 
She laid a clutch of eggs that year (2009) that got moldy and went bad... I had incubation issues and lost a lot of clutches that year. This year (2010) I put her with Indigo again and she laid a clutch of duds. Not sure what happened there. Maybe they never got a good hook up this year.

The one pic is pretty out of focus but I thought it was funny because it looks like she is tasting the tub. I had a pile of pinkies defrosting nearby and I'm pretty sure she smelled them. (You can see them in the first picture.) :D

In the last shot you can see I ALMOST got a great in focus tongue shot, it was just coming out.

Thanks. Indigo maybe wishes he had too many ladies, but he was only with Tupelo. I think they just didn't get a good hook-up.
