Gonna be a good one tonight. Sylvia vs. Couture. I have to go with my home town hero Sylvia. 6'8" 255 lbs should be enough for Couture. Sylvia fights out of Davenport, Iowa but he is originally from Ellsworth, Maine. Any other U.F.C. fans post away about who you think should do good tonight. We also have Hughes vs. Lytle. GO SYLVIA !!!! Maine Pride !!!! :punch:

I almost feel bad for Coture(sp?). He's an incredible athlete, and can never be truly counted out, but if he couldn't take a left from Iceman, there is no way he can take a right from Sylvia. Everyone knows that Chuck Liddell has some of the most incredible knockout power around, but...what is Randy gonna do against 6'8" and 255lbs. of angry New Englander? I just don't see it. I appreciate his heart, and he has the right idea, in that he is trying to add some depth to the heavyweight division, and I have no doubt that he will give Tim a fight. I certainly don't think that Sylvia is just gonna walk in and steamroll Randy, by any means. Since Tim's first fight with Andre Arlovsky, we certainly won't be seeing him take ANYONE lightly anymore. He learned his lesson, I'm sure.

As for Lytle vs. Hughes...as long as Matt Hughes trains properly and keeps his head in the game, I don't think Lytle has a chance. He's a reasonable boxer, and everyone should know that he has a "puncher's chance", for sure...he's got plenty of knockout power...but I just don't see Lytle being able to handle Hughes's ground game. Matt is WAY too strong and far more seasoned on the ground than even Matt Serra, who, IMO, cleanly beat Lytle. However, with that being said, if Matt Hughes tries the same crap he tried with George St. Pierre, and goes for a stand-up fight, looking for a knockout, I think he will find one...only it will be HIM that gets knocked out. Hughes still needs alot of work on his standup game before he can standup with Lytle. I think Lytle has a better standup game than GSP, and Rush just knocked Hughes out for his title.

I'm looking forward to seeing Cro-Cop fight. I simply cannot WAIT until he works through the ranks a little bit to get HIS shot at the heavyweight title. I don't even care who he has to fight for it. I'm pretty sure that he is the strongest and most efficient fighter in the UFC heavyweight division right now. I don't even think Tim Sylvia could take a left high kick from Cro-Cop...he's a tough dude.

Any word on when we get to see the Chuck Liddell vs. Rampage Jackson re-match? Liddell only has 3 losses on his pro record...Jeremy Horn, whom he defeated nicely in a re-match, Randy Cotoure, whom he defeated cleanly in TWO re-matches, and Rampage Jackson, whom he has not had a re-match with, but who is now contracted with UFC instead of Pride. I want to see that one, for sure...

Hats off to Couture. I really didn't think he had a chance but when he walked into the octagon he was nothing but business. When he threw his first right that put Sylvia on the mat I believe that one punch set the tone of the fight. I just don't understand how a guy with almost a foot reach advantage was getting beaten to the punch. Couture dominated every aspect of every round. I don't think Sylvia took Couture lightly I just don't think he implemented the right game plan. Couture had something to prove and did. I thought Sylvia would just be too big of an obstacle to overcome and Couture proved me wrong. Amazing what he has done. 2 time U.F.C. super middle weight champ and now 3 time U.F.C. heavyweight champ. Unbelievable achievement on his part. I think when the rematch happens, and it will happen, the outcome will be a lot different. Either way Couture proved that he "Is The Man".
