unexpected surprise at li reptile show

Well, I had to make the really hard decision that because of many factors including physical limitations and just plain lack of space to house babies properly, we decided that we will never breed. I did decide i wanted a second snake, so yesterday i went to the long island reptile show. just to have a look. there weren't many corn snakes, but a lot of pythons and boas. As i was just looking i spotted a breeder with a ball python morph that i saw on the web , and it was more beautiful then the picture i saw. It is called a spinner blast, and I found out it was only 4 mos old and eating ft rat pups. Well my downfall was when the guy handed me this little guy and i got to hold him and he looked up at me and wrapped around my hand and seemed to say please take me home. That did it for me, we agreed on a price, and he even agreed to hold him for me for a week, till i get my viv set up, then he will ship him to me or , because he is only an hour from my home, if it is too cold to ship we will meet half way. I will have him shipped cause the gas is more then the shipping, but not if the weather will delay the ship date, then i will go get him. He is so sweet , and his name will be Nugget.

It costs you more in gas to drive an hour than to have it shipped?? What the heck are you driving??? I've driven that far to pick up a shipped animal at my fed ex depot.....Sounds like a nice find!

We have a pick up and it is not the best on gas mileage. To get from long Island to pick up i have to go through the nyc area and a one hour ride can be as long as 3hr. If you have ever been here you would know way they call the li expressway the longest parking lot in the world, everyone thinks that is a cute joke, untill they expairience it for themselves.

IF I were you, I'd pay the seller for their gas money so they could possibly bring the snake over, is that an option?.

I've been to NYC through New Jersey...so yeah, I know what the traffic can be.....still......

We talked about it, but he would if there was a show and he did say he would hold it for the month till the next show , but that is a longer trip up state about 3 hrs or so. I will not let him ship if the weather is not warm enough. I want him with me as soon as possible. I am waiting for my new thermostat to get here. I ordered a herpstat, and it should be here by fri, or sat. Otherwise everything is ready and waiting.
