Hey guys, I am looking into possibly buying a baby ghost bloodred corn snake if the breeder still has some in october, and I am very curious what an adult might look like, I assume like a lighter colored anery bloodred but if anybody has one or can link me to some photos I would really appreciate it. -thanks-

Here's a link to a pastel GhostBloodred female I bred http://cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67383

Here's some photos of Orion my Pastel GhostBloodred adult male.

Last photo is a composite of some hatchling head markings. The blue eyes of the babies will develop into the opaque black eyes of the adult over time.

WOW, thank you guys very very much for taking the time to help me out, I was unsure if it was innapropriate to post about requesting photos in this thread, those snakes are beautiful and I really hope to get one at the show (the breeder sounded like he would still have some).

Piper, those are some amazing Ghost Bloodreds! Are they some of the ones you have posted in the classifieds? Just curious.

great, yeah I would love to see her and I really appreciate how helpful everyone has been. I really hope I can get one at the show, the asking price is a little higher than what I'd like to pay (175$) although I've seen higher prices than that, but would you say that's a reasonable price for a GBR? I hope it will be less expensive because of the show, and I'll try to talk down the price without being pushy or rude.

this is Shunkan, an adult ghost blood male. Not mine but he's visiting one of my girls for a bit. :)

This is my girl. She's at 250g right now and will be ready to go for '09. She was all sorts of uncooperative, this is the best pic I got (and its still terrible)...

thank you blue apple and everyone else for the help, she does look amazing, the breeder has around six GBR's for 175$, and 2 very light GBR's for 200$, and your's has that great color that the light ones look like they'll develop, I'm kind of tight for money but I've been putting money away for the show and I hope to get one, I definitely will if the prices are lowered. What would you say is too much to pay? and what is a great price to pay?

It's really what they're worth to you. I'd say a reasonable price is $200-300 range. They're still fairly rare. I paid a decent amount for mine, but I'll have a leg up on everyone else project wise as she's breedable now. The prices will only go down; so if you're in no rush to start a project or can wait a year or two, they will be more affordable down the road.

I'm very interested in having one for a breeding project, so I guess 175$-200$ seems very fair, comparing it to your 200$-300$ mark, I appreciate your advice and your snake looks so perfect and I will definitely be looking to buy a GBR.

It also depends on what you want, these guys seem pretty variable color and pattern wise as the photos here attest. These are all beauties BTW, but they are different looks and we all have different tastes. I would say that's a great price you're talking about (don't know who the breeder is?) But I would actually ask for pics of HIS/HER adults rather than all ours in order to find out what $175 gets ya..

I certainly will great idea, I have seen individual pictures of them, and I can tell by a couple progression threads that I've found online that the two light ones for sale (if they're still available) will be very beautiful adults, I think similair to the one blue apple posted, because their markings had similair light pinkish hues, but I can only hope they will look that great and I will ask for pictures of the parents, -thank you very much--

Yeah, good point by Tom. Mine has changed a lot. When I first got her as a hatchling she had A LOT of pinkish hues to her saddles; almost a pale red color. It was the coolest thing I'd seen on anything anery based. But as she's grown, its subsided a lot and there are just barely any hints of the pinks and peaches she used to have.

And I'm pretty sure I know what breeder you're looking at, from what I understand, that breeder doesn't breed most of their snakes. They buy them wholesale from other breeders and then sell them. Assuming it is who I think it is, they're still great to deal with (if you don't want to publicly post it, you could PM me, and I can see if it's who I think it is and give you my opinion).

Here are some progression pics,. These are old, :cheers:I'll try to get some current ones.

OK stop with the photos, it's hard enough waiting until the show but you guys are making it impossible, that snake is perfect (so is everyone elses I'm not favoritizing), but it has like a powdery look to it that just makes it so ghastly, I love it!!!
