For those with websites, who is your host and server? Did you do the design yourself or was it a design option through the host site? I have a site through Hostway, but am looking around at other snake breeders' sites and like what I see. CCCorns, SMR, Serpenco look great as do many others. I'm just curious about getting together the nicest (least expensive) site I can.

I used to have an account with PHP webhosting... they're about $10/mo (a little over $9 if you pay yearly). I never had any downtime there, ever, and the staff were really nice. :) My current host is less expensive, but I won't recommend them yet as I've only been with them a couple days and have no idea how reliable they are. Heh! PHP's good, though.

As for the site itself, I designed and built mine, but I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to do yours for a reasonable fee if you can't manage it yourself. (PS, I'm available... :grin01: )

Whatever you do, avoid globat.com's webhosting services like the plague. I have used many different webhosts over the past 9 years, and these guys are way below par, even compared to free hosting services.

If you don't need ridiculous amounts of space, I would highly recommend Rich Z's hosting services at http://faunanet.com. His are 250MB which is way more than enough for an average website. :)

Did you do the design yourself or was it a design option through the host site?
We design our own sites. Hurley mainly does the layout/design, I do the php scripting, and we both work on the graphics/HTML. The latest set of graphics (buttons/background/banners) for cccorns.com were done by Jennifer Rasch, who did a great job. :D

May I also mention that on the links page of our site is a link to contact Jennifer, should anyone wish to utilize her excellent design skills. I'm very pleased with what she did for our site. :D

I would second that I use Rich's hosting service, and am very satisfied. I designed and created my own website, noob at it that I am.

I use Supreme Server, my buddy is a sales tech for them, so I get his rates ($3/month). I've never had a problem with them and I host four different sites with them.

As far as L&D, I obviously do it all myself. It's my career. *lol*
