what are you other non herp related hobbies

I miss Chris' and Elle's photography. It's always sad when old threads get dug up, and I'm reminded of people who aren't around. And this one isn't even that old!

I didn't even realize this was an older thread - though, while reading it, I was thinking in the back of my mind "I'm glad these people are still on.. it's been a while".

Definitely a bit sad. There have been some great (talented, highly helpful) people to come through this community.

I do miss some of the "old timers" who have moved on. BUT - OTOH, look how many in the old threads are still here!

Michael, if you're ever in the Asheville area, look me up. We'll shoot .22s till your hands are shiny!

Let's see, I'm rather boring. Haven't had a lot of time to make much recently but I like making chain maille and cold connection jewelry and purses. And I love to read.

Here is a cold connection (not soldered) wire necklace.

Awesome jewelry! I would love to have a chain mail piece.

In the spirit of the thread I will share some of my hobbies. I tend to dabble in several things depending on my mood. I paint, draw, sculpt, scrapbook, crochet(badly) and play video games. I also have a 65 gallon salt water reef that is my pride and joy.

My daughter would love your creations. Very nice Tavia!

let's see.. I read, play video games, go to the range if and when I have the spare ammo to do so. I mainly stay at home with my dog (separation issues w/ him ) and diabetic cat, poor thing is getting old :( I do have a pac man frog that spends most of its time under the substrate other then when it is time to eat and take a bath..

Are they not around by choice, or they have physically passed on? I love Chris' photos, and would like to have one.

Ooh, you're in Asheville? My parents live about 2 hours south of you in Brasstown (don't blink or you will miss it!). My mom just stepped down as the president of the Campbell Folk School but she is still a "Member At Large".

We always make a day trip up to Asheville when we visit, LOVE the art galleries, unfortunately those visits are few and far between. I will let you know next time we plan a trip. I have never even held a gun before, so maybe we will just stick to meeting for lunch, my treat!

I do studying. Is that a hobby? I'm ready for it to be over...

I draw. But I haven't drawn in ages, too busy with that first "hobby" (studying).

I am the one who knocks-

Another hobby is astronomy. I take the telescope out a lot. When I have time and money I'd like to get more into astrophotography, too.

I also draw astronomers-

So yeah, pretty much anything science related is right up my alley. Read a lot of science related books. Do at-home science experiments. Once I get more time and money I want to give a go at making different crystals.

Oh yeah, I also draw scientists-

When I have time (which is never) I also partake in video games here and there.

^ Nice work. You pick great subjects too.

Also, if you're interested in making crystals, I think 'the one who knocks' might be the guy to see. Lol.

And you should definitely post pics of the astrophotography, when/if you have the chance. Photos from space are some of the most amazing images, IMO. Not just as photography, but as a sort of abstract expressionist art. Very amazing stuff.

Appreciate it. You never know, I might just take you up on that someday. That sounds like a blast (literally).

I may not seem like much of a 'gun-guy' now, but you get me out there shooting, and you'd probably have to drag me away.

Heather, you are so talented! All I needed to see was the top of the hat and sunglasses and I got excited. I know a Heisenberg when I see it!!! Great job.

Hi my name is mike and I'm an alcoholic. Jk. I do like good whiskey and beer though. And I too collect comic books. I drive a Pontiac fiero. It's more than a hobby. It's an obsession. And I am just about to graduate with my bachelor's of fine arts. I would attach a picture but I'm not sure how.
