Corn Snake Friendly
I was wondering what you guys thought about me using large Critter cages for my hatchlings?http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp, you can buy them at Petsmart. Of course they are going to be set up seperatley. I was going to set up a large Under The Tank Heater on a book shelf and put like 3 of these on the one heat pad would this be ok? Thanks

Victoria

pretty expensive it you buy alot of them aren't they?
I have my first 3 hatchlings in something similar. They were about $7 each. When I realized I was getting more I switched to Sterilites. They have worked fine, but the lids do pop off easily if knocked down(not that you want that to happen, but I had a cat incident in the beginning) and they are a little harder to keep humidity in. I have to really keep tabs on the water dishes daily.

What do Sterilites containers look like and what do you use to keep them warm?DO you have some pics? Thanks :crazy02:

Sterilite or Rubbermaids. You can find them at your local Walmart. I use 6qt shoebox size for hatchlings. I live in a warm climate and just heat my whole house, but many people use them with UTHs.

Also when using those containers the snake can rub their nose on the grating of the lid, constantly! Thereby causing infection!

Howdy!
The mini UTH I bought said that you have to use the UTH on the side/back, instead of underneath, for that type of plastic. (Critter keeper/reptile keeper.) It also said to only use the mini size because the larger sizes can melt the plastic. So I'm guessing that a large pad underneath, for all the keepers, would be bad.
