What if your SO decided they didn't like your snakes?

You know what else is common- people build a collection together, and then break up, and then have to move, and can't take the snakes with, or can't afford them or have space for them, by themselves.

I knew this guy who gave up his cat for a woman. He loved that cat, and she was extremely insensitive about the whole thing. She thought it was stupid that he was so attached to the cat. Basically came down to her or the it. Guess he loved her so much (??) that he gave the cat to some friends. He married that woman and as far as i know they're still together to this day (like 10yrs later). He missed it so much that he kept a lock of its fur in his wallet. She would make fun of it behind his back. Made fun of people who like/get attached to pets. She really irked me.

Oh my goodness. I am such a baby. I love my cats so much. This story made me want to cry.

I always thought it was sad when one adult demands another adult to give up a pet. I could see it if the pet owner did not spend time with the pet, or allowed the pet to be destructive. Also if the pet owner neglected to clean up after and take care of the pet. I could also see if there was a sudden onset of allergies. When I was dating my husband....30 years ago...I mentioned that I loved animals, children, my parents among other things. I think it is best to talk things out with whoever you are planning to date before you move in with them. If they change their mind later, and the pet owner is being responsible..oh well, but I would not be the one to move. The person changing their mind would have to do that.

I come as a package... Lunatic rescue dog (she's sweet really) and a house full of pythons..

My wife accepts that's part of what makes me and who I am....

If she ever decides different, the animals won't notice she's not there so all is good.
