I'd love to see some pictures of the local critters you see often, occasionally, or even rarely!

Here are some of the ones I get to see:

Arizona bark scorpions are very common in my area. They're pretty easy to catch and they look awesome under a black light:

Black widows - look awesome, although they're very shy and I haven't seen any in a while:

Sceloporous "fence" lizards are all over the place. Sometimes they do little push-ups to intimidate me (or maybe to attract me?):

Wolf spiders (at least I THINK these are wolf spiders):

Geckos are super easy to catch and calm down as soon as you're holding them:

Praying mantises are my number one favorite insect. In the past I have purchased a few egg sacs to put in my back yard (lousy photo, I was still learning to use the camera then:

In my area, there are also Great Blue Herons, hawks, egrets, and vultures. I have yet to see a wild tarantula, and I've only seen horny toads once or twice.

see a lot of those and other salamanders early in the year.I am always seeing daddy long legs and wolf spiders in my basement.Praying mantises every now and then. And if I'm lucky a snapper or garter in the woods or near the creek.yeah pretty boring here.

When I lived in British Columbia, I used to sometimes catch salamanders. They are such interesting little critters. I think it's too dry for them here...
