What was I thinking?!?!?!?!

Eriathiel

Short and Sweet
Well... I might have been thinking... pretttttyyy... or... oh I don't know. I wasn't going to get anymore snakes anytime soon I swore I wouldn't... four was enough - but a friend got these and only wanted 20 for each - both are female, one is supposed to be a okeetee and one a hypo... either way I think they are beautiful. So now I have two new corns. No names yet - nothing has come to me... so if you have suggestions let me know! I tried to bring out the nice color of the red hypo but it was hard! Let me know what you think!

I am not addicted to snakes... no I'm not. I swear. Really. I'm not.

Thanks guys! :) I don't know... I was trying to think of unique and fun names... but maybe elegent too... Its so hard. Normally I can come up with something quickly but these two are tough!

lol Congrats on the new snakies!!

I don't know enough about baby okeetees to tell you for sure if that one actually IS an okeetee But I can tell you that the other one is DEFINITELY not a hypo, it's a really pretty little amelanistic (or albino if you prefer). :)

But you are right, they are gorgeous!

I duno if anybody's had the same thought yet, but an amel's coloration really reminds me of candy corn.... Perhaps "Candy/Candie" for the amel? Get it? .. "Candie corn"? :grin01:

i think the okeetee is a normal, but dont take my word for it, I really don tknow morphs as well as other people.

great lookin babies though!! :crazy02:

Congrats on a couple of pretty snakes. :)

Every Okeetee is a normal.

Oh and just for future reference, a hypo normal would still look more like a normal but would be very red, hence their other name "Crimson"

I didn't think the amel was a hypo... but I wasn't sure. Doesn't matter - I love amels anyway! I did notice think borders on the okeetee - but once again I am not good at all at identifying morphs and such... so yeah... Thanks for all the comments guys!

Love the little ones..I'm sorry I just think they are all so cute!! We just as someone else had mentioned for our little Amel..We thought she looked like Candy..so we started to think of red candies..and out came Twizzler..which just didnt roll off the tongue after a week or so ..so it ended up being Miss Twizzy since she is such a gentle soul!! Enjoy and really pretty babies!!

okeetee's do have really thick borders, but they are not a different morph they are just a line bred type of "normal".

o, i thought okeetees had the really thick borders. sorry!
They usually do have thick borders, although some of the "real" locality Okeetees that are actually from the "Okeetee Hunt Club" or surrounding area (Jasper County, SC) do not have especially thick borders.

My point was that any corn snake that isn't exhibiting a color or pattern mutation is a normal. So Okeetee-phase corns are normals, as are Miami-phase, Upper Keys, etc..

Sorry but not all Hypos are Crimsons.
Crimsons (which are, indeed, Hypos) come off of Miami lines.
