What's the most aggressive pet you've ever owned??

Maize411

Hooked for life!!
All of us at one point or another I am sure must have had an aggressive pet of some sort..anything from a parakeet that you couldn't put your finger near, to a snake that was striking at the glass anytime you walk by...Any pet...dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits...hamsters...lol...I want to know your stories with them..did you end up giving them to someone else who could handle them? Did you keep them until the day they died? If it was a rodent...did you get so fed up ya just fed it to a snake? (lol)...Also tell about what this pet did to you..bite, scratch, hiss, strike...draw blood, needed stitches? lol...I'm curious...

The reason I brought this topic up is because recently I cleaned out Cyrax's tank..and upon taking him out of his tank while I was cleaning it I now see just how mean my uro is...He hisses consistantly at me now, strikes at the glass anytime I come near him, swipes hard with his tail anytime I get my hand in the tank to pick out his old food...and yes he has bitten..not me but the item I was using to push him into the plastic holding crate while I cleaned his cage..I was glad he bit the object and not my finger..lol..Because I could tell...he was biting hard..He is not a friendly uro anymore at all...and to be honest I don't know really what to do with him...I'm unsure if I want to keep him and bring him to FL with me or if I want to leave him behind and give him to my friend Harry who really doesn't mind being bitten by his pets...I dunno..I'm still undecided...

Anyway...onto your stories now...:realhot:

Her name was/is Vicki. I met her at a party at a friend’s house when I was 15. She was cute as a puppy. I fell in love the moment I saw her. It was one of those kind of moments when you just wanted to pet her all the time. I was young and foolish. I wish someone had told me the kind of claws this type of animal would grow with time. Long claws sunk into my back. Fangs, sucking the very life from me.

I want to be responsible but I don’t know what to do. The shelter won’t take her. When we go to Wal Mart I put a sign on her back, “Free to a Good Home”. I’m open to suggestions.

One of our cockatiels is the meanest. He goes into attack stance whenever someone passes by the cage, and has learned to hiss because I would blow air into his face whenever he looks angry. He randomly pecks at his cagemate sometimes, and the other has to move to the other side all "Wtf leave me alone :(". Thankfully they've never had a fight with eachother, just the random pecking.

One of my dogs is the nervous kind of aggressive. She doesn't like things with sheen, doesn't like to be blocked, etc, and it makes her really unpredictable. I gave up correcting it and just plan things out to not interfere with her. She's bitten me once, not enough to bleed but enough to bruise..

I had a needlenose gar that would tear your finger off if you reached into his aquarium. He was about 12" long and super vicious. One day I left the "feeding flap thingy" open on the aquarium lid and he committed suicide. I found him hours later behind my dresser...

I also have bite wounds from a horse/pony that my family had when I was in high school. He was 14.2 (so technically a "horse") and had the attitude of the biggest baddest horse out there. If you turned your back for 1 second he was reaching over and biting a chunk out of your shoulder. He's lucky he was pretty!

LMAO!!!! This one I was not expecting!!! lol!!!

Hands down, it had to be the Ferret I had when I was 16. Thing was crazy!! it would attack your feet with its sharp teeth and claws. Darn thing practically held us hostage in our own home. My mom was happy when I got her steel tip boots for Mothers Day that year:eek:

My Cali king. She bites anything and everything. It doesn't matter if she fed earlier that day, yesterday, 2 days ago, or a week ago. She'll try to eat you all the same. She's my "look, but NO TOUCHY" snake.

I haven't really had anything aggressive yet. I suppose the closest I could get is my hedgehog...but she's not really aggressive, just cranky.

Some people would call my cat aggressive, and she does have an attitude towards people...but she's always sweet with me.

At the risk of sounding silly, the most aggressive pets I have ever had was a school of 11 Red and Blue Columbian tetras. I researched and read that they would be a nice, colorful addition to my 55 gallon tank. Bought some, brought them home, and they turned into little pirannahs on me!!! They killed more then half the fish in my tank and those that remain still hide in the plants all day long. I think my bristlenose pleco was a casualty cause I have not seen her for a while and the algae is starting to grow again.... I asked the store if they would take them back since I had only had them for a few days. They said sure, but I wouldn't get any money or store credit or anything. I talked to my younger sister and since she had just lost all her mollies, she offered to take them. I caught them all, took them across town, and put them in her tank. I'd rather give them to my sis as a gift then give them back to the petstore! So far, they are happy being in a species tank all by themselves and I still get to visit them when I go over to her place. Her water is perfect for them and they look extremely healthy. We still call them the pirannahs though because of the frenzy they cause when feeding! lol

I had/have a few nasty pets.

The first nasty animal I had was a male goat, he would love you one minute then have you on the ground ramming you the next, but we all still loved him but our neighbor caused us to get rid of him but his new home was awesome.

My next nasty pet was a Iguana named Louie. He would sit there and plan his attacks. He actually chased me around the room trying to bite me. He would whip and scratch all the time. He would also wait for me to not be paying attention and would lunge at me. Sadly he was very sick when I adopted him and nothing my vet or I could do would help him and he passed away after about year.

Next on my list is one of my current Iguanas named Harley. He is a 4ft Ig that I rescued, he was living in a 55 gallon tank and didn't get much attention, so he tries to bite a lot and does not like to be touched or held. And when it comes to food time, watch out he will lunge at you for his food and if your in the way you are food, lol. Thankfully I have never been bit by him yet(knock on wood). I have though of getting rid of him but he is lovey to me occassionally and I feel I'm one of a few people who would ever love a mean, clumsy large Ig like him.

Last on my list of nasty animals is my Albino Prairie Kingsnake. He strikes at me through his bin and tries to bite me ever feeding time(he loves trying to bite my feet for some reason). He is very unpredictable. He has bitten a friend but I'm to quick for him because he has a 45 degree kink in his neck which makes him clumsy thankfully, lol.

I'm sure I had more meanies but that's all I remember for now, lol.

The only "Mean" pet I've ever had was my Lav Albino Cali King,
he attacked when I was "Spot cleaning" his tank. He attacked when I
took him out to feed, he attacked others when he was in my hands.
And he would bite me ANY chance he got. (5 times in less than 2 days!)
I traded him for store credit to a local Shop after he struck at my wife
when she was walking past him.
(Got 3 tanks (2 20L & a 10) and 2 UTH's in trade.. LOL)

My little juvie Brachypelma boehemi is the meanest spidie I have ever met. S/he lunges at you when you open the box, flicks hairs though the ventilation holes so they STILL hit you and is in a constant strike pose whenever standing still. I am absolutely dreading tub upgrading time when I have to take the lid completely off.....

I had a tiger reticulated python. I got him out of the egg and he was nippier than all of the others but easily the most beautifull. Even with regular handling he was extremely nasty for the first 2 or 3 mins before he was handlable then he would chill. As he grew he stayed really mean, I loved him dearly and everyone, even fellow herpers would back up when i was taking him out, he would bite me EVERY time. fly right by the hook and tag me, I once had to get stitches in the palm of my hand, other times he would just nip then poop on me when I got him out. After almost 2 years and about 10' in length he chilled. I think with his size he knew I wasn't a danger to him , maby he thought he could "take me" and was no longer frightened. I don't blame him, he is a retic, I knew the species well but this guy lived up to the reputation. I reluctantly sold him as a breeder to a friend who i see occasionally and murphy is still chill but has grown to 16 feet now.

I'd say in the past the most aggressive pet I had was a cockatiel who would NEVER calm down no matter how much I tried to work with her.
Right now the most aggressive pet I have is the cat we took in from my niece. She will hiss, growl and attempt to scratch you(for once I'm thankful to have a cat that declawed). I'm hopeful she'll calm down eventually, but I know she's always been aggressive towards other people except my niece. So, I'm not so sure she'll ever get use to me and my daughters. I guess time will tell.

My Cali king. She bites anything and everything. It doesn't matter if she fed earlier that day, yesterday, 2 days ago, or a week ago. She'll try to eat you all the same. She's my "look, but NO TOUCHY" snake.

I'm going to agree with Robbie, my Cali king is the nastiest little bugger in the house! He bites and doesn't let go. Luckily, he's still just a wee little thing (around 30g), so he doesn't cause too much pain, just draws a little blood and makes me itchy (I must be sensitive to their saliva). Once he gets bigger, he will definitely be a 'hands off' snake, unless he decides to calm down.

I have a tiny little Thayeri king that is a bit bitey, but her mouth isn't big enough to even get any skin. Lol. She sure thinks she's scary though....

And last, but definitely not least, is my snow stripe Irvin. He was nippy when I got him, then he calmed down, and now he's back to being cranky. In fact, I am in the process of upgrading tubs, so I was moving him to his bigger permanent home last night, and he grabbed on to me when I picked him up. I decided to spend some time with him (as he seemed to settle once he finally let go of my hand). Well, over the next 10 minutes I counted 39 bites. They were nearly all slow motion 'tasting' type bites (some of them were 'grab and chew'), but it was still annoying, yet funny in a way. I think my right pointer finger must have looked like dinner....

Parrots for sure are the worse. I had a ringneck that would sooner kill you than eat. She was satan I am sure of it. :)
When I was a kid my parents had a African Grey that was horrifically aggressive and they now have a greenwing macaw who is a biter unfortunatly. Mainly they just need to work with him. He is 18 now and they have owned him since he was a couple of months old. He was handfed and just never handled much after that saddly. One day I hope to inherit him and let Lauren tame him again. He is a talker anyway.

I hadn’t thought of birds. They can be horrible. I had a Myna bird when I was in college. He didn’t bite but could whistle so loud your ears would bleed. I went to the Psychology Dept at the college and got a transformer and some switches and I wired his perch (his name was Adolph Coors). I ran wires over to my chair in front of the TV with a push button. I could knock Adolph clear off his perch. I never taught him to stop whistling but I sure felt better about our relationship.

Gargamel.

I don't have many good pictures of him because I didn't have a camera then. But ya, bunnies will MESS YOU UP

I did love the little guy though. Bunnies are hands down my favorite animal, but I'll pick a nicer one next time (lol). I felt bad for him at the SPCA, I was a dog walker and he had been there FOREVER, the same amount of time as one of the dogs I really liked - and was sad that no one wanted. It was becasue Gar was kind of an aloof bunny, I think no one wanted the dog (Kissy) because she was kind of ugly, haha. I don't remember what happened to her, probably foster (which can sometimes be code for PTS for the volunteers who worked with the animals for months, we all tend to not ask too many questions after a while).

My most aggressive pet was a rat.
A smooth coated Chocolate male rat, who suddenly and without an obvious reason decided while running free in our living room that the whole room was HIS territory and I was an intruder. He was jumping up and down with his hair sticking up looking like a hedgehog and he attacked me several times. He managed to bite my hands like half a dozen times at least and he did bite right to the bone! I was bleeding pretty darn well... And as you can believe, he didn't live much longer... *shiver*

My most aggressive is probably a tie between Selena the angry boa and Izzy the California Kingsnake. Selena can be quite a nasty little thing, and so can Izzy, but not 100% of the time. It's that 10% that keeps you coming back and then... WHAM... they gotcha!
