which color morphs are cheapest?

so when it comes to corn snake color morphs, generally speaking which are cheapest? i would guess okeetees. .does anyone know how a creamsicle motley would compare with an okeetee in terms of price? :)

There are several morphs that are common enough to be all pretty much the same price range, depending on the breeder of course: normal, okeetee, miami, amel, anery, hypo, motley, ghost, snow, anery motley, amel motley.

Classics, amels, anerys... They are the dirt cheap commoners... It all depends on the country you are in, the quality of the animals, where you get them from eg pet shop (if you want to pay tripple the price) or a breeder.

Then again i have seen some miamis, snows and ghosts cheaper than the above mentioned, and I have seen them be much more expensive. It depends on different situations.

It definitely matters where you decide to purchase your corn.

For example: I purchased a snow corn and a normal het. snow from a breeder in Texas. The snow was $25.00 and the normal was $20.00. I have the benefit of knowing the snake's genders as well as their genotype.

If I were to purchase a normal corn with unknown hets and unknown gender at a pet shop in town, I will be spending $70.00. Amels and anerys are slightly more, and a snow would be about $150.

Remember that these prices are for "common" corns!

The $45 shipping cost was well worth it to get "what I wanted."

thanks!! well i m getting my very first cornsnake at NARBC in anaheim next month and i was just wondering which color morph would be the least expensive. i m thinking of either a creamsicle motley or amel motley. . :]

My .02 worth of advice is, buy the nicest one you can afford. If you should get addicted to the hobby like so many of us seem to do you will be glad you spent a little extra money later.
Cheap snakes are everywhere and make nice pets, but if you find yourself wanting to breed or something later on you will want to have quality stock. At a show like Anaheim there should be a lot to choose from.

I agree with Shed'n My Skin...start of with what you can afford.
Here in South Africa's normals are reasonably cheap, and the most "common",but can still fetch hefty prices..I have seen normals (no hets) here that sell for about R400 (about $60) ,but generally they sell for between R100 -R150($10-$20)
Also like previously said, sometimes it depends on the breeder.....shop around is the best advice I can suggest, maybe you find a nice rare morph going for dirt cheap... :crazy02:
