The goat ate my homework
Ah..PETA. How I loathe thee.
I help my parents raise meat goats. They're taken care of to the point of being fairly spoiled. Just the other day, mom and I put a goat outside that had spent about a week in the house because she was sick. That goat hasn't been the first to come inside, and she won't be the last (every kidding season there's at least three or for kids that come inside for bottle feeding. This year it there was 8 kids that got brought in).
If I mention that I own goats, a lot of people will fawn over them and want to see pictures. However, if I dare mention that they're meat goats, I'm instantly a horrible person that abuses my animals and hovers over the animals waiting to kill them. I've had a couple people online who've made threats against me. I.e "How'd you like it if I shot you in the head (insert large amounts of question and exclamation marks here)".
It gets old. I still wonder how 24/7 water/shelter, 30 acres of knee deep grass, free choice hay in winter, and humans that'll drag goats into the house is abusive. Oh well.
