Yep you are right they are gone. :( I have been contemplating on finding a new home for her big brother but I think that I am going to use him next year before I do.

Todd this is actually the snake I posted in your thread when you were looking for a bright girl. Ha ha

Big Brother Rudy

I am not going to completely thread jack you but her big brother shed today so I thought I would give a little sneak peak into what she might look like as a big girl.

Christen, I went back and looked at that thread....I should have snapped her up! :headbang: I was looking for one that could breed in 2012 and never found one. :awcrap: Bought a Fluorescent female from Don S. and I am still on the look-out for a older one.....if not found soon I plan on getting another 2011 female from Don S. to complete a trio.

Todd:cheers:

Time for an update!

When I first got Wilma, I had read that when a snake is going to shed, they'll get duller and their eyes will go blue-ish, but the first time she shed for me I wasn't totally sure that that was what was happening.

So I decided to take some pre- and post-shed pictures of an amelanistic corn snake for anyone who might not know what it looks like. Plus, it's awesome to see the transition from dull colors to super-bright vibrant colors! Both pictures were taken in the same area at the same time of day. The colors are very true to life.

Wilma freshly shed (literally only minutes after she finished):

She's been a great shedder for me so far. The second shed she had with me wasn't perfect (a tiny bit of tail skin stuck to her), but it came off very easily with some help from me. This most recent shed was complete.

Also, here are some 'for fun' pictures. She was so active after her shed that it was hard to get her in focus sometimes!

Here she is with my golden retriever, Berkeley. He was actually quite afraid of her and kept trying to expose his belly!

She ate too much Halloween candy!

Lastly, here she is on an acorn squash! (I'd wanted to take pictures of her on my carved pumpkins but she was in shed during Halloween, so I didn't want to bug her too much.)

Corn snakes and golden retrievers, my favorite pets ;)

They're both beautiful--and is Wilma ever bright!

I had Wilma out this evening and she was quite happy to weave between my fingers as I typed, but she seems to have found a warm spot on my laptop and settled right in.

Wilma is still doing wonderfully. I love seeing her grow and her colors change. I took her outside today for some photos and a measurement. I measured her in November and she was about 15.5 inches. Today she's 18.5 inches!

Anyway, here are some photos. I took a ton of them, trying to get a good tongue shot.

Even though this one isn't a tongue shot, it's my favorite from the group because of how accurately it depicts her colors and the clarity.

As always, thanks for looking!

I just love how she looks so petite and feminine. She has her momma's delicate head.

She is very pretty. Can I see a picture of her mom? I remember what her dad looked like, but I don't think I saw mom.

But I seriously could not have gotten a better first snake. :)

She's lovely! I love her yellow highlights.

Palermodude - That website is awesome, isn't it! It's so much easier than trying to measure your squirmy snake with a string or something.

Wilma shed again last night, so I thought I'd post some pictures. Her shed was perfect, although I was really hoping to get to see her doing it this time. She was 15.5 inches when she was 4 months old and now she's 8 months old and 19.6 inches.

Here are some pictures:

I put her on the towel hanger-thing, and she didn't want to leave:

And I finally got a semi-decent tongue shot. I'll try again later.
