Wilma

Wilma is very pink right now:

Wilma shed on Wednesday night - she always manages to do it when I'm at work or out of town or just not at home.

Anyway, she's getting to be a big girl. She's well over two feet (over double since the day I brought her home). She'll be having her first hopper tonight - we'll see how she likes them.

Aww She looks so pretty in her new skin. I can't believe she is up to hoppers, well I can but it just seems like yesterday you took her home.
 
I love the pic with your dog! Our snakey loves to go to our old German Shepherd, warm and soft. The dog doesn't mind, but will sniff at the snake and if it were possible for a dog to roll her eyes, that's what she'd be doing. She just kind of lays there and puts up with the snake crawling on her. It's too cute.

Wilma wanted to crawl all over my dog and burrow into his fur. I'm surprised she doesn't have some sort of survival instinct that says 'large predator - stay away'.

If I don't make any startling movements, she'll sit like this for an hour, waiting until it's 'safe' to come out.
 
I'm always just amazed at pretty Wilma is. I seriously believe that Christen produces some of the most beautiful amels out there. I was cleaning all the snake enclosures today and I thought I'd take some photos of them while they were out, so here are a few of Wilma.

You might be a little bias but Thank you! I think she is stunning as well. I am so thankful that you update pictures of her.
 
Wilma refused food tonight for the first time ever. She was all twitchy when I was touching her. I reheated her food and brained it, and then I put her in the closet, so I'll see if that's enticing enough for her. But anyway, here she is!

When is the last time she shed? I only ask because two of her sister's that my BIL has laid eggs this year without being with any males, ever. She sure has grown up to be a very pretty girl.

She last shed on May 10th. She's also been roaming her tank a LOT more the last two or three days. Normally I will only see her out in the evenings, and even then, it's not every night. The last few days, she's been out during the day and doesn't quickly hide if I'm watching her.

I've been wondering how young a female can be and produce infertile eggs. She sure doesn't LOOK gravid and doesn't feel lumpy or anything. Should I give her a lay box just in case?
 
You know it wouldn't hurt. She is old enough. Hopefully she is just interested in breeding and that is why she is so active. I will cross my fingers that she doesn't give you any stresses like that. I am just hesitant since her sisters did. We just might have some fertile girls in that bunch. lol
