Kokopelli
Resident Boa Fanatic
Hey everyone,
Wow... these past three months really changed a whole lot for me regarding my Boa breeding goals.
For those of you who recall, I worked mainly with my line of Hog Isle cross salmons.
After two shipments and finding out that my female-male ratio was not what I expected, and finding out that my pair of bloods were actually pure Central American, I reconsidered my entire direction.
So basically, I fell in-love with the Central American boas... their size is wonderful for me(4-5 feet, much more slender). Their litter size allows me to work with several females without having to fear of drowning... it's great.
It by no means says I will stop working with my Hog isle cross line- I simply reduced the number of females I had(which was something like 7) to 4... which is still plenty.
I will mix CA morphs into my salmons... but will also work with entirely CA morphs.
So here are the snakes that have made it to my place over the last 3 months:
Kahl albino male:
I purchased him as a baby, sold him for a price I could not resist, and traded a female to get him back.
a pair of CA bloods 66% het anery type II, from Exotic By Nature:
A leopard boa:
Labeled as a hypo hog... IMHO this is a CA cross... the color and head shape remind me of them more than hogs but regardless, I like her:
a salmon poss het blood, born to two poss het bloods from Rich Ihle, produced by Alex Tower:
a pair of CA T+, Tom Burk's line:
So... I think that's a whole lot of things to happen in such a short time... just goes to show how plans can be altered so completely over a short period of time.
