Winds of change

Resident Boa Fanatic
Hey everyone,
Wow... these past three months really changed a whole lot for me regarding my Boa breeding goals.
For those of you who recall, I worked mainly with my line of Hog Isle cross salmons.

After two shipments and finding out that my female-male ratio was not what I expected, and finding out that my pair of bloods were actually pure Central American, I reconsidered my entire direction.

So basically, I fell in-love with the Central American boas... their size is wonderful for me(4-5 feet, much more slender). Their litter size allows me to work with several females without having to fear of drowning... it's great.

It by no means says I will stop working with my Hog isle cross line- I simply reduced the number of females I had(which was something like 7) to 4... which is still plenty.
I will mix CA morphs into my salmons... but will also work with entirely CA morphs.

So here are the snakes that have made it to my place over the last 3 months:

I purchased him as a baby, sold him for a price I could not resist, and traded a female to get him back.

Labeled as a hypo hog... IMHO this is a CA cross... the color and head shape remind me of them more than hogs but regardless, I like her:

So... I think that's a whole lot of things to happen in such a short time... just goes to show how plans can be altered so completely over a short period of time.

Robbie! You're back!!!

And thank people.
You like the morph in general or him specifically? more people need to get leopards with all the commotion around him

Haha! Yes, I'm back. You should see the Ghost BCI 66% poss het blood I got at the NRBE show. ;)

I love Leopards in general, but he's a fantastic example of the morph. I've been looking at getting into them, but I'm still also trying to keep my collection down to an easily maintainable size.

I don't have allot to judge by- he's the only leopard male over here... the pair of bloods are the only ones here as well.
Choices are rather limited hehehe

Haha! Yeah, I can imagine. But good on you for propagating bloodlines, and bringing the morphs into your neck of the woods. :)

I'm not sure that the local market here can really cope with these kinds of morphs... they are not cheap, and once I start mixing them...
My hope is to still practice export more than anything else.

Beautiful boas!

It is nice to see that you are refining your goals, yet not changing the general type of animals you work with (boas). That must mean that you are really on the right track, lol!

Boas are, by far, my favorite snakes. I have kept quite a few snakes... kings, corns, milks, GTP, ball pythons, boas were the last to be attempted and the ones I completely fell for.

Something about their primal faces and confidence just blows me away.

Thank you, I too, think I am on the right track :)
