*Insert Witty Title Here*
Yesterday I drove out to the high desert to visit the Wolf Mountain Sanctuary. It was a pretty amazing time. If you're curious about the place, there's a ton of info as well as stories on all the wolves on their website-

http://www.wolfmountain.com/

I WILL however, post a metric ton of photos... because.. that's what I dooo!

Laughing hysterically... because I had found "the" spot on the wolf's chest... which was in turn causing his hind leg to go wild... which was in turn scratching up my back like crazy!

The Apache woman who owns the facility told us stories of how this wolf, Durango, was a healing wolf. He certainly had a way of staring into your soul. I can't explain it... words only make me sound like a hippy... hahaha. But he was definitely an intense, and special animal.

But yes... this place was amazing. Yet another childhood fantasy to check off the list!

Ohhh my god!! I want to go there now sooo badly!! That looks like such a fantastic place! I would want to go there more then "Discovery Cove"...I love wolves so much...I will visit that place one day..I've made it a goal now..hehe..thank you for showing us such a wonderful experience :0)

It was amazing! They're currently located in the Lucerne Valley in CA... although apparently they're going to be moving to Colorado... which will be much better for the wolves.

Wow... What an awesome time that must have been!!
I took my daughters down to Indiana 2 years ago to wolf park. It too is a preserve, but you can't go into the enclosure with the wolves at all. You sure have a very special place there! Thanks for sharing those awesome pics.

What a great experience! Never experienced any "real" wolves, but dated a guy who's mother had a 1/2 Wolf 1/2 Malmute male that I was going to get a puppy from when it was bred to another Malmute... unfortunately, we broke up before I got my pup... dang it! His behavior was definitely more wolf than dog.

I think we may have a santuary here in Missouri, I'll have to see if I can find out more about visiting it.
