The award covers the registration cost for a pre-college student and a chaperone to attend the meeting.

We get to go learn more about snakes! She's been working with a herpetologist since late summer and involved in several research projects, and I've been learning a lot.
 
I don't know. I can't imagine they have all that many participants who are still in elementary school. There may be quite a few families, though-it's a summer conference and Chattanooga is a nice place to visit with kids.
