A friend of mine (until today, perhaps he was a bit more, hehe) who happens to be a collector of corn morphs came over yesterday. I showed him Darwin and he's all like, "oh! beautiful! love his markings!" then I showed him Cornflakes, who was (at least in my mind) at her prettiest because she had just shed overnight. He took one look at her and said "oh, normals are worthless". an arguement ensued (hello, he just insulted my favorite snake!) and let's just say he is forever banned from taking me out to dinner, hehe. :devil01:

but seriously, does this corn look worthless? She's not the prettiest corn out there but she's very docile and a great eater. plus she was my first corn.

She's not worthless - she's beautiful!! My first corn was a normal too and my absolute favorite snake, the calmest of them all.
 
I personally LOVE the normals (classic) corns! Your is beautiful and I think mine is awesome looking too! The babies might not look as "Cool" but they turn out to be stunning adults!

Forget what they guy said! Your snake rocks!
 
worthless?! How can someone say something so meaningless? theres nothing normal about normals. they are like the classics of corn snakes they never get old. and she is beautiful. Peek a boo my corn snake look just like her. she is really stunning you are lucky to have such a pretty snake as Cornflakes.
 
How rude, I have two normals ne is het hypo. Everytime she sheds her balck is reduced. Yours looks on the verge of hypo to me what does her belly look like? susan

I can understand from a project breeders point of view that normals carrying no hets are indeed worthless... and thats probably where his point of view stands.

But when it comes to looks, you can't beat the corn in its classic/natural form.
 
That is a beautiful snake. Just like others, my first corn was a "normal" that I wild caught. He was a beautiful snake too and is still the favorite of all the snakes I have had.
 
maybe your buddy meant that a classic is worth less than a million dollars if that's the case he might be right, might only be worth $999,999
anyhow i think that your classic looks very nice

"Worth" is subjective. The relative value of the animal is based on the taste and needs of the individual judging it. I don't find any of my snakes "worthless" or I would never have acquired them.

To call anything that another holds dear "worthless" in their presence is simply rude, no matter the object in question or the speaker's own preference.

Absolutely, fancy telling someone their pet is worthless... :shrugs:

I think your snake is beautiful. There's no such thing as a worthless snake.
 
How dare he say such a thing! lol She is gorgeous!!!

To me, there's nothing nicer than a really nice normal! Mother nature knew best I always say.

I've had non-snake people come see my collection and my big normal Cornflake, is ALWAYS the favourite!! I usually show them my "fancier" ones first as CF is in a different room, they always say "Oooh, he's BEAUTIFUL, what type is he?" when they see him! lol

My mom INSISTS Cornflake is her favourite, she's not much interested in my "fancier" chaps! lol
 
awww thanks everyone! this makes me feel so much better! I've always loved cornflakes, and i always will, no matter what anyone else says. But it still made me feel pretty bad when he said that. But, once again, this forum cheers me up! thanks guys!
