Would the front door viv be a better choice?

Wadjet's family
Pinkie Py(thon) went out for a slither last night again. Apparently, if there's any gap whatsoever in the velcro, he's capable of forcing the lid up and over enough to get out, and it can be hard to get it tight. He hasn't yet gone far (both times he's ended up in my daughter's closet, behind the My Little Pony stuff), but it worries me. He's in a 40L tank with a screen lid, with velcro straps all the way around the tank, with about 3/4 of the lid covered to keep humidity in. His former owner warned us that he was an escape artist, but never goes far. I swear the snake is kind of like Batman-during the day, he spends most of his time curled in his hide, but apparently he has an active night life!

Wadjet (the corn) has a 40L Exoterra with the front doors, and has never tried to escape-or if she has, has never succeeded.

I'm wondering if it would be more likely to defeat the little escape artist if I switched their vivs so Pinkie had the latching doors?

I've kept some herps in those 36 X 18 Exo Terras, but never a snake. They certainly wouldn't get out of the front doors easily. The top with those plastic latches would be my concern.

I absolutely love my Exo Terra! Kaa hasn't ever come close to getting out yet, but he's still only 27", so I know that I can't call it escape proof until he's full size. :) I read a lot of threads about them here before buying mine though, and it seems people have had good experiences with them for the most part.

I have one sliding front glass door cage and I like it a lot. I was worried about the top latches (I think it's meant more for turtles or lizards) so I actually just permanently glued the screen lid down because I only use the front doors anyway. I probably wouldn't put a baby corn snake in there, but my larger corn snake has done fine with it and no escapes.

Very cute name, by the way!
