Yesterday was a REALLY bad day...

What's one more???
My 16 year old totalled her car! I also found out a bunch of other things that are not pleasant and are causing quite a bit of strife around here.

I am praying that my insurance will completely pay for her car (we still owed over $9,000 on it!), but if not I may have to sell some snakes to pay for the rest of the damage. I DO NOT want to have to do that!

I wanted to ask those of you who believe in prayer, to keep my family in your prayers. We really need them right now.

By the way, both my daughter and the other girl are fine...just banged and bruised up. I am very thankful for that!

So sorry to hear about it, Terri, but glad to hear that she's OK. I'm pulling for you both that it all works out and that insurance covers everything. Let us know how it turns out.

So sorry to hear of your troubles. I've had some rough times with my 20yr old over the last few years and it wasn't easy. Hope it all works out :wavey:

Oh NOOO!!!!! :eek1: So sorry to hear. How awful! Prayer? You got it! I am praying that you will see God come through for you in incredible ways. God has been my friend for over 30 years now and I can honestly say that never once has He failed to come though on His promise to turn the hard situations of those who trust Him into conduits of great good (Romans 8:28). So hang in there, and please keep us updated.

Thanks everyone! I really needed some "support" today (although I'm crying again now ;)) I appreciate all of you!

Wish you well, cars are replaceable loved ones aren't..
Definitely true! I am very glad they are gonna be fine!

This car is not gonna be replaced, by the way. My daughter knew how much of a stretch it was for us to get her such a nice car (a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT). She was told that she would not get another one if she wrecked this one. She'll have to buy her own now. Maybe it'll teach her to appreciate it!

My thoughts are with you and your family, Terri. Thankfully no one was really hurt. Good luck dealing with the other things you found out. It's probably fortunate that whatever they are, you can start addressing them right away...

Sorry to hear the news, Terri, but good to know she and her friend aren't hurt! Hopefully the extortion artists --I mean insurance company-- provide the service they get paid for! :)

Terri -

Sorry to hear about the bad news, but it's a relief to know that they'll be fine. Your peace and welfare will be in my thoughts and prayers.

regards,
jazz

Awww Terri, that's not a good way to end the week. I'm not one for prayer but you're in my thoughts. As was said earlier, cars are replaceable but people aren't so it's good that the car was the one who took the force of the impact.

I know what you mean about teaching her to appreciate it (the hard way), I gave my brother my car when I left Australia instead of selling it and he trashed it and wrote it off within 2 weeks...his reasoning for why he wasn't upset for going around a corner doing 60km/h in the wet was 'So what, I didn't pay anything for it so it doesn't matter...I could have used that money towards my European trip....grrrrr!

Her bruises will fade quickly, her bruised ego might take a little longer but the lesson will stay with her even longer than that!

Terri, I hope it all works out alright and I will be praying for you and your family. :)

You and your family are in our prayers. Your daughter can live without a car for awhile...I didn't get my first car until I was 19 and in my sophmore year of college. I hope the other unpleasant things you found out are not too serious. We're always here to talk to and if there is anything else we can possibly help you with, please let us know. God Bless!

Terri, I'm sorry to hear about all that you're going through right now. My thoughts are with you, and I hope things look up soon. Take care!

We will also have you in our thoughts and prayers, Terri. And so glad to hear they were not badly injured.
I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. Maybe this was the jar needed to address the other issues. I know first hand how teenagers can put you thru the emotional ringer. Good luck to both of you working things out. And shake a finger at her for me ;).
