Kids and young adults, how would you like to win an ALL EXPENSE PAID trip to San Antonio Texas for the 2015 International Herpetological Symposium?!
IHS is proud to announce our first JUNIOR HERPETOLOGIST AWARD PROGRAM!
For this years IHS in San Antonio Texas, we will honor THREE winners (one in each of three age categories). Winners will receive an all expenses paid trip to the 2015 International Herpetological Symposium in San Antonio, Texas from May 27-30, 2015. This includes travel, admission to all presentations, the banquet, and a trip to the San Antonio Zoo! For winners under 18 years old, we will also pay for a parent to accompany you!
Five runners-up in each age category will receive free registration to the 2015 IHS meeting, free banquet, free trip to the San Antonio Zoo and $100 towards travel expenses.
Three age groups are eligible to participate in this program;
• Ages 12-15,
• Ages 16-18,
• and Ages 19-22.
Requirements for entry include:
• A cover letter explaining why the applicant should be chosen as the Junior Herpetologist Award winner,
• A short essay on various aspects of herpetology (details outlined in the packet),
• and two letters of recommendation from a teacher, local herpetologist or other person who knows of the applicants herpetological interests, accomplishments, or potential.

Winners will be required to present a 15-20 minute Powerpoint presentation at IHS 2015 on their favorite reptile or amphibian species or presentation related to the topic of their winning essay.
