I am sure you can do it, but I am sure after reading here that it won't leave desired long term effects on the snakes... Someone I was looking to buy a snake from in the Reptile Expo a few weeks back, was telling me how he could do three generations in 6 years.. That made me iffy and I didn't buy a baby from him because in my head I wouldn't be surprised if the babies somewhere suffered from that treatment as well long term or genetically.. but again that is my paranoia..
I am doing a long term experiment right now, I have about 2-3 years to go.. I am raising a female savannah monitor, rather slowly, just like you guys would be raising snakes. Some "pros" in the monitor forums are saying that she's stunted, but she's growing in line with the male I have that is full size and is 5,5 now..
I won't try to breed them until she is 4-5 years old depending on size, someone said oh people can get them to breed size in one year, it's been seen in the wild.. Which is most likely true.. but very few people have reproduced them in captivity the captive eggs are much more sensitive than wild caught eggs that can hatch under almost any circumstances. I suspect since we to a degree have artificial environment that it effects the animals wither we want it to or not.. I am sure there is things with some of these species where we are lacking in husbandry not even realizing it yet..
So I say slow and steady is better, and I prefer to buy a snake from someone who does it that way than someone rushing it..
