I bought Zara from a pet store on December 28th. She is a Keys corn. The pet store, which is one I really like and usually know what they are talking about, said she was a tiny little 2-3 month old snake when they got her in and they had her for 6 months before I bought her. She weighed 178.3 grams when I bought her. There has been some debate on a FB group as to her true age (some were saying she has to be at least 2 years old to weigh that much).

Zara has made it a habit of musking almost every time I handled her (hence her nickname) but I am thrilled to say that she did not musk me yesterday when I was handling her and she was calm! We are making progress! I kept it short and only had her out for 5 minutes.

This was taken on Dec 28, 2015. She was in a 6 qt tub for the picture/weighing.

yup wild Rat snakes will musk you rather than bite you when you pick them up, and after all a corn snake is just a red rat snake.
 
yes your snake(s) could musk you, but pets that are used to being handled don't usually do that. That is a defense that Wild snakes usually use. I have been musked many times when out catching wild snakes, but I have never been musked by a pet.
 
Zara is the only one to have musked me. She was not handled regularly at the pet store and I'm sure what little she was handled wasn't all too positive. There is only 1 employee there that actually likes snakes. I'm usually impressed with their knowledge of the individual snakes but have a hard time believing that she is 8-9 months old at her size. Honestly I don't know her history other than what they told me at the store. She is calming down quite a bit and seems to trust me more now.
 
About how long is she?

My snake is about the same weight, and is about 33 inches long, and just turned 1 year old a few days ago.
