Zelos progression thread

I guess I should start one of these. I had an intro thread before but lets start from scratch here. This is Zelos. He is a "pastel ghost zigzag Ph amel, motley" (I just call him "pretty") with a hatch date of 7/26/2012.

Zelos's mother:

Here are the pics I got from the breeder before I got him:

Then I took him back to college and he settled in and started showing his personality more. He is such a goof!

New post to break it up a little.

Here are some pictures from the last few months (don't know the actual date for these at the moment, too lazy to dig through fb to check, haha!)

Then these are from the last week or two:

You can tell there's some yellow showing up now on his side in this pic:

So with that hint of yellow appearing, do you think it will only be a slight hint of yellow when hes an adult? Or is he on the route to having a lot of yellow like his mom? I don't care either way but I am curious how much corn snake colors change through their aging process. I figured he was well past the color changing ages but apparently not? Teach me, forums! :D

PS: he really freaking loves that hammock. He hangs out on it every night.

If I had a hammock I'd be in it all the time too ^^ I do love the 8th picture of him (the one with him looking down from the hammock), idk why but it looks like he is welcoming you to his crib.

Feeding night was a couple nights ago and I took pics:

Then just a few minutes ago I was talking on the phone, oblivious to the world, and then I saw something that looked like a little pebble balancing on top of Zelly's cocohut...

I see you there, Mister.

Very nice looking snake. Anery is one of our favorite morphs. Here is a website that can help with the genetics behind the various morphs. Colorations will change due to amounts of melanin (and other pigments) as they age. It is neat to see how they progress.

Zelos shed earlier this week so today I brought him out to "watch" tv with me. He has been semi-flighty during handling sessions in the past and today he was amazingly calm and mellow and I was so happy... until he pooped right in the middle of my bed. THANKS ZELOS.

On to the photos! Sorry they are mostly of him in my hands/arms. I was wearing shorts and didn't want to blind you all with my pale legs. I cannot wait until he is even more mellowed out so I can take awesome outdoor/better quality photos.

He is showing some more yellow on his sides :)

He came right up to me and placed his head on my leg like this. Reminded me of when a dog begs by putting their head on a lap. Too cute.

I should really update this. Zelos is now over a year old and still super awesome.

Photodump:
He has been upgraded to a 40 gal breeder. This is an older photo of it, but it is mostly the same other than i added a new water dish and rearranged a big

In his free time, he likes to hunt and kill zebras:

Oh Zelos, you big idiot of a snake. LOOK BEHIND YOU.

That's... closer. Try a little harder.

Oh sweetheart. You would be hopeless out in the wild.

Zelos is pretty much the friendliest/derpiest snake ever. Very chill, very entertaining. I am happy with the little dude. These pics are a month or two old. I will try to get better updated photos soon!
