Zimmerman trial

On the news today the couple from the SUV accident in which GZ rescued someone were at MOM's office about to have a news conference, then decided they didn't actually want the publicity that would accompany that.

Smart woman. It's a lose, lose situation to even do that. Media will hound you and the public will hate you no matter what you say. The public is too divided right now and just wants to separate each other into two categories: pro Zimmerman, anti Zimmerman. I myself refuse to put myself in either because I'm not for the drama that comes with siding with either. I know where I stand and that is enough for me.

I hate that this country DID make so much progress with race and things of that nature and now people want to throw it all away. It's ok to have open discussions and bring items to light that need to be looked at with our judicial system and/or how we escalate items afterward (to higher courts), but to do it in the way that some are and to see social network sites drown themselves in negative, unproductive ways is not helpful to our end goal.

What is the productive way to do this? I am not truly sure, but instead of people stirring up emotions, why not get supporters behind you in a legit way and take the fight to legislative and judicial bodies?

Truth be told, I am not religious whatsoever, but I commend bodies such as churches that are bringing communities together THE RIGHT WAY during a time of turmoil like this. It is helping a lot of folks to understand that harmony and belonging can be a strong tool. I wish more entities and leaders would get clues from institutions such as those.

Well, at least that Dove World Church moved out of Gainesville and down to Tampa. They were not very nice...(That was the church that sent kids to school with T-shirts that said Islam is of the devil).

Yeah, I hear that. So many people are spouting off without looking at the actual FACTS involved. And apparently whites are the only race that can be racist. The one-way street racism that is being shoved down our throats is just getting me pissed off. Do as we say, not as we do, in spades (no pun intended).

DYK ain't that the truth! My sister kind of amazes me with a little racistism. Half of us our adopted, she is black raised by a white family but yet white men are trash. She would never date one or marry one. However she has a bf that doesn't lift a finger to help with kids, can't hold down a job, does drugs, tells her she can't go out and have fun even with family and cheats on her repeatedly. He is half Indian and Mexican. I am sorry but trash comes in every race just like good does.

Well, like the old saying goes:
Everyone is a book and should be judged by the content, not the cover. That goes for *INDIVIDUALS*, not black, white, yellow, hetero, homo, female, male, old, young, you name it.

So, how is Sharpton and ilk going to label this guy's statements as being racist?
