I found this little girl. While working at the park yesterday.

Oh after the pictures, I took her to see the park naturalist... She is in great health. There was an old injury to her underside but it has healed real well. She was 66 inches long and released in the same spot she was found.
 
Very cool! I love Fort DeSoto. One of my favorite places to go and take pictures around here. I have yet to go over to the Key with the lighthouse though. Have heard there are a lot of gopher tortoises over there.
 
Look at the Triangle Head Of Death on her! She is really, really angry! How many bites did you take? I finally got up the nerve to pick one up last summer, and was seen hopping about the rails-to-trails trail muttering "stop biting me, stop biting me!!" until I finally gave up and put her in a tree for pics...Yellow Rats are one bitey snake.

This side of the state must be full of Yellows. I move to Lakeland 2 years ago and have caught about a dozen. 66", wow, an old veteran. Good to see.
 
Gorgeous looking yellow rat! I'm jealous. I'm back home in Iowa right now and its about 5 degrees outside...not exactly great herping conditions lol. Great find and great herping :)
