New snake

I'm wondering about your question asking if Arrie will relax because he is apparently stiff when being handled. None of my corns, regardless of age are stiff when taken out of their containers. Typically, the young ones will attempt to flee so I let them slither through my fingers until they finally calm down and decide nothing is going to harm them. The older ones are calm anyway and are relaxed and easily handled. Arrie seems to be doing well, just keep handling him and he should be fine.

Arrie will straighten his body straight out. Eventually he will slither around my hand but he is always on guard. We have been handling him a few minutes every day. Tomorrow I'll feed him and leave him be for 2 days.

Sounds like basic baby snake survival instinct at work. What you describe sounds normal to me. Each individual may manifest it slightly differently, but at that size they are prey and behave accordingly. It takes months. Be patient. It gets so much better.

I had a great session with Arrie today, and then he had his pinkie. [emoji4]
