Completely unexpected new arrivals.

And all 3 just ate for the second time with me tonight, along with Iroh, who has been on a strike. Getting them figured out. The orange is very easy, Yellow #2 is picky about temps, that mouse has to be exactly the right temp but eats very easily once that has been achieved and Yellow #1 is just a weird little frustrating PITA that requires lots of patience and multiple attempts before deigning to actually eat the mouse.

One bit of advice for anyone thinking of getting into these, a hair blow dryer is a must have for heating their food to the right temps!

I had always figured they could be a bit picky about temp. Many of the arboreals retained primitive heat pits and hunt more through heat than vision or vibration.

They are so stunning. I don't dare try to ever have any myself, I just don't know if I could provide the more delicate husbandry. So I'll just live vicariously through you. In other words, keep them updates a coming :)

Took some new pictures today of the orange one and Yellow #2, first up is the orange.

I need to know their genders ... Have names for buys and girls but not gender neutral. Wish it didn't take so long to be able to sex these guys. Though I have had a thought or two on some more gender neutral names in the last day or two. Need to see what my husband thinks of them...

Wow, their colours are amazing!

The last ones of yellow #2, I could see an artist having dun turning into fantasy art like a dragon.

Absolutely stunning!

New pictures taken 11/20/14 indoors with flash. Yellow #2. Really starting to go green.

Taken 11/20/14 indoors with flash. Orange. None of these pictures quite capture it's colors right now, it's kind of a burnt orange/yellow color with a tiny bit of green.

Thanks!

The littlest one, nicknamed Yellow #1, hasn't really started to change at all, but then it hasn't been growing much either. It ate for me 3 times after we got it, although it was always a problematic eater but then it stopped eating entirely and I ran out of patience and was getting quite concerned after 70 days of not eating, so one of our local friends took it, he has a pinky press and lots of experience force feeding snakes, which I was starting to think might be required. But it actually took a live mouse from him the first time he tried to feed it. He breeds mice and has better access to live. So he is going to get another 5 or 6 meals into it and then might give it back to us or might keep it, we haven't decided yet.
