hi i got my beardie on saturday and he was ok i went to show my dad and he done a massive blackbeard now when i go past his cage he puts a black beard on do you think he scared him?
 
They just do that. Just be gentle and calm and slow around him till he gets to know you. You're lucky- he might never have done that for you! Wait till you see how much he can change colors due to temperature and mood, too. How old is he? Maybe he'll arm wave at you!
 
I'd call an adult two years old, so I guess he must be around a year old? Nice age- not a fragile baby any more! Wait till you see him bulge his eyes (they do that to loosen the skin for shedding). Is he eating for you yet? I've heard they can take several days to settle in and eat- and you have to have a hot enough basking spot, or they won't eat.
