OK the title says it all. If you had say a 3 month old female living with a 3-4month old male. I know they're too young, but do they know they're too young and I need to separate them into separate cages. Yes they are fine living together though but do they know this :shrugs: .

They won't breed at this age, but they will quite possibly breed before they are old enough, possibly causing death from egg binding in a female who is far too young. You should separate them.

OK thanks and should I separate them just during mating season, or separate them period?

Seperate them period, and here would be a good reason why:

Snakes are solitary creatures and don't require company. Set up another cage for your snakes and everyone will be a lot happier in the end. The potential for cannibalism and premature breeding/egg binding, not to mention transfer of illness are more than enough reason to do so. :)

Here we go again
not just early breeding is a risk
there's also cannibalism, disease contagion, not knowing which one it was when you find a regurge or other problem, and trauma for the more timid snake if the other one is dominant.
Seperate them, period.

wow that changes every thing. :sidestep: I'm just going to put them in seperate cages now thank you.

some of that was just sick it was cannibleizm :puke01: !
