I am The Nitelion
I am still no good at posting pics so for now they will b on photbucket. They were a big surprise I had no clue about them till lastnight. They are both male Half Beagle Half Cock Spaniel. They white one with black spots is Sawyer. The black one is Nite/Eko I dont know witch yet but your more than welcome to give opinions lol. This is the only pic I have time for tonight but im going to try and put more tomorrow. They are 6 weeks old and do NOT want to be housebroken but im trying lol. http://s758.photobucket.com/albums/xx221/Nitelion94/?action=view&current=untitled.jpg

They are very very cute. Gotta love those sad little puppy eyes.

Congratulations on your 2 new bundles of joy! I know you'll give them lots of love and care!!!

Haha oh yeah, good luck on getting them house broken!

Awww how cute! I prefer Echo for the black one. It sounds nicer because it has two syllables :)

Aren't puppies supposed to stay with their mothers until they are 8 weeks old?
Cute though, and be patient on the housebreaking. If you are diligent it will happen!

^ It depends on who you ask. MY grandpa would say 4 weeks, but a breeder from this 'era' might say even 16 weeks.

Good looking puppies! I hope they stay somewhat puppyish for you. X)

At 4 weeks a pup wouldn't even be weaned yet! GAH! Early removal from their litter also tends to cause behavioural issues with other dogs unless you rigorously socialise them, and it also seems to make them more mouthy as their siblings and mother aren't there to teach them that they are biting too hard. At least you (nitelion) have the pair so they can do the bite inhibition learning.

And dear gods above but they are stinking adorable. >_<

The black one is really playful you cant have your hands moving anywhere close to the floor or he is right on them. Sawyer on the other hand just runs around doing what ever he feels like so far. I do wish they stayed puppies forever just like I wish kittens stayed cats for ever.

Those are adorable....lol

When we were breeding dogs, we wouldn't have even thought about taking them away until at least 8 weeks old... Except for one time, when my parents had to bottle feed a litter of 18 because the mother had blood in her milk.

Though, I have seen many people come into the pet store with puppies between 4 and 8 weeks. Some of the people were bottle feeding the younger ones.

When I bred dogs I would never let the puppies go till they were at least 10 weeks old. And then under protest. My preference was 12 weeks. But definitely no earlier than 10. They need that socialization time plus I always wanted to make sure they had at least 2 of their shots before leaving. But that was me. Also gave me time to get any results back from the vet if I thought their might have been issues with the pup. But that was me. I also was the kind of guy that interviewed prospective buyers and if they didn't cut the mustard they didn't get a pup. So I might have been considered anal when it came to my babies.

Not in my opinion. In my opinion all breeders should be just like you.

So do you guys think I should see if he cares to keep them with the mom for about another month or so?? I have all ready talked to him and he said he would. I told him I would still pay for the rest of the shots&food till I get them back. Im worried now lol.

If he is willing I would. But that is me. It depends on whether you trust him to keep them well and with the mother. If he was already willing to let them go, I have my doubts on whether I would have faith in that.

Without a doubt, it would be best for the dogs to stay with their mother another 2 weeks. It would give them a much better advantage behaviorly and socially and possibly even make them easier to train.

I trust the man with my life. But he said that they are weened in 6 weeks so they r ok to go but like I said he told me he would keep them for me so I think im going to have my dad bring them over when he gets of work. I would much rather be safe than sorry. I have waited this long so a month is not going to kill me. It gives me more time to get everything setup to because as I said they were a big surprise!

That is true. If the guy is willing to let them go at 6 weeks it doesn't appear that he has the puppy's best interests in mind. He has already shown that...

Glad YOU are putting the puppy's welfare first.
Oh, and I vote for Echo!! (a 2 part name is easier to get a dog's attention with).

As far as care for the dogs go you could not pay me to believe he would willingly harm them. And as far as taking care of them goes I can make sure they have double care because his daughter is my bestfriend and loves animals more than any person I have ever met in my life. So all there dogs have imho amazing care

Honey, sorry but if that were true, he never would have let them go before 8 weeks old....everybody knows that! I am not talking about physical care, I am sure they are fed and watered and stimulated and taken care of that way. I am talking about the basic things that only a mother can teach her pups. An education that would have been cut short, to the pup's detriment.
