Euthanization -- A New Method

its real! its funny as heck to.. but im sure he didnt shoot it! i mean i could be wrong but i bet he took it off then shot the card board. or you would see some goo lol

is it.. i guess i needed to look better i thought i was just a freashly killed mouse twist tied to a box!
gee now i feel dumb lol

How do you see it's photoshopped then? Quite impossible to have a mouse photographed like that without tying it up...or to photoshop a complete view of a mouses bottom view.

I did not realise it most probably is a freshly killed mouse, that would not bother me though. Life would (not saying the OP would have tied it up).

First of all mice don't stand up perfect dead or not (reality). So its photoshopped or enhanced. I raise mice and rats for both pets and feeders. That's an altered pic. And a funny one at that. Also do you see any blood from the shooting. Get real and wake up. Its a joke, not a real method.

I don't think the mouse was really shot... and with straps it could be tied like that. Of course I don't think a mouse can stand like that...

I just don't get it... everybody says it is photoshopped, but can't say what shows it. I just don't believe it can be photoshopped like that... what photo could be the base for altering? It looks like a freshly killed mouse tied up. I have really zoomed in to it and see nothing indicating it was photoshopped.

that what i thought a freshly killed mouse twist tied up hehe so then he would stand straight up! and of course it wasnt shot lol you would see the GOOP if it was!

It can if:

a- it is twisty-tied to the box, as clearly seen in the photo
b- the box is actually tilted on the edge at that point to prevent 'sagging' of the mouse. That would also allow the tail to be like that as well

No photoshop required when a bit of ingenuity can do the trick

Check the ears. Real mouse ears do not tend to be so round. The face is straight. If the mouse was prekilled and stood up the nose would fall down to the chest. If it was dead laying on its back the head (nose) would fall to the side. This pic is altered. Also notice how groomed it is.

You have gotta be kidding me. Nothing about the mouse is off. If you raise the arms up that high, the point of the shoulder can prop up the head. It's similar to how when taking radiographs of cats on their backs I use their elbows to force their head to be straight. And dead things can be positioned so they don't fall. I have dealt with many a deceased animal. The head does NOT fall to the side if simply positioned to not do so.

Sorry, all your 'reasons' are negated by my experience as a vet tech.

So you vet tech mice. Lol. Are we seriously debating this? The fact that your a vet tech doesn't make you an expert. And yes I am no expert. That's an altered pic. Prove that it isn't. And oh don't assume just because your a vet tech that your an expert at dead animals. I put down my fair share of animals when I work for the spca of pinellas county. Not that you haven't put down animals in your time. But how many pet mice have you actually euthanized as a vet tech. (Not as snake food). And then how many do you euthanize for snake food? I average somewhere around 400 euthanized mice/rats a month.

How often do you take those mice and set 'em up for necropsies (guess which animals are flat on their backs with the nose in the air!) or pose 'em for distraught owners?

And prove it? Well, I only have frozen mice, but fine. I'll go thaw out a mouse, use some string to tie it to some cardboard, and show you how easily that is done. The belly will be more saggy on mine, due to the nature of tissue breakdown from freezing, but in an hour or so, I'll show you that pic.

If you succeed. I will change my stance. I have sat with a lot of people surrendering animals knowing the animal will be euthanized. Angered at the fact too. Mostly because the owner refused to pay vet bills. I am sure you get the plenty of that too. And you also see great owners. That was rare for me to see.

Can't say I saw many necropies. But the few I did see, the heads of the animals were laid to the side.

O MERCY! i wanna say its real but i cant say for sure! the ears still being perked up like that would that happen if it was already dead?! that the only thing really bothering me.. maybe a fresh kill still would. but ill see what you guys come up with lol

The ears on mine are NOT perked... because it is a rather old frozen mouse. But the ears on a fresh-killed would still be 'normal' looking.

Pictures in just a minute.

*edit*

Allright, his face is all squished up on one side, but his head is actually NOT tilted. I couldn't get his lips to go back to 'normal'.

nasty mice nuts on the floor! lol

it looks good but i dont know for sure, im still on the fence!

Very good. I am wrong. It could be not altered. I still think the ears and boy parts are altered but I am way wrong about the head.

Thanks for the efforts! To me the photo of the OP is not altered. A freshly killed mouse can have roundef ears and I don't see how the boy parts would look different.
