...Skeleton. With an Eastern Cottontail rabbit skeleton inside! (I know these two would never meet in the wild - but I guess when it comes to skeleton collecting, you take what you can get!) Both specimens were obtained humanely. The Crotalus Atrox was actually housed at a Venom Research lab and died of natural causes. I believe the Rabbit was roadkill.

This piece was re-articulated by Steve Huskey of Western Kentucky University. You may have seen him on National Geographic, or Discovery (at least, I think he has a segment or two on Discovery)

His Etsy shop, TheBoneLair is here. A few hours of continuously watching "Oddities" I was inspired to go searching for weird things on the internet and that is where it led me.

Hope you all enjoy!

Oh seriously!!!!!!!!!!!! That is EPIC!!!! I love unique taxidermy and articulated skeletons. I have thought about learning how to do that (articulate skeletons) but wouldn't know where to start lol.

Back when teachers could still have fun, in sixth grade we had to each purchase a whole chicken, boil it to get the bones out, bring it to school and rearticulate it. I'll never forget it- so much fun!!

I started doing a cat once, but got fed up with it pretty quick! Takes more patience than I've got!

Thanks everyone, so in love with this! Trying to get a cool display case for it now...

And yeah, I cannot even imagine the time and patience that goes into something like this. Dave had to glue one rib back on and was ready to HULK SMASH by the time he was finished, lol.

I teach science, and you are right on - the delightful combo of fear of litigation and helicopter parenting has pretty well taken a lot of the cool out of science these days.

this is too neat!
I love oddities, great show..I have always wanted something like this to put in my home.
a.m.a.z.I.n.g :)
